Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have lived in the mid-west all my life and have been an x-ray technologist for over 35 years. I found the Find A Grave website back in 2000 while helping my daughter research a school project. At the time, the more I explored Find A Grave the more disappointed I became that some of the famous individuals that were posted did not have a personal photograph in addition to their gravesite displayed. In the process of trying to locate photos for Find A Grave I have learned a lot about many of the individuals that it has been my pleasure to honor. History has always been a passion for me and Find A Grave has helped satisfy my curiosity tremendously.

Cholly Atkins 7377706

If you want, I can send you a more detailed bio for Cholly. I did not know one was already on Find A Grave because I searched for him under his "birth" name verse his "stage" name. I'd known Cholly for years. I'll send you what I have at your email address, then Delete the duplicate I've made for Charles Sylvan "Cholly Atkins" Atkinson 109735261 . ;'-(

He also took pro bono case, for poor people. He defended my grandmother, after shooting a man who was robbing their business. She was 7 months pregnant at the time. He got her acquitted.

Walter Gorney (1912-2204)
I have added my uncle Walter (Crazy Ralph's) father and mother to the find a grave data base. His mother was Zofia Kania Gorney (buried in Pittsfield Cemetary in Pittsfield, MA and his father was John Gorney, buried in St. Joseph's cemetary in Pittsfield.

I do not know how to add the links but John Gorney is 106983638 and Zofia Kania Gorney is 106983660. I think children have to be added by the parents link.

Is there a way to link Walter to his father and to his half brothers and sister who are linked to their father. Walter's mother died in 1914.

Vic Wertz
Sir- Thank you for the information regarding Vic. Please include the fact that he was also an All=Star in 1957 while playing with the Cleveland Indians.

He died of a Heart Attack which may have been brought on by polio during the 1955 season but came back strong the next year (1956) hitting 32 HR, with 106 RBIs.

Vic also served during WWII and served in the US Air Force in the Pacific. He was discharged in December 1945 with the rank of Staff-Sergeant.

Thank you
Robert E. Martin

Jack Legs Diamond
Just a little tid bit - my Grandfather Daniel H. Prior, Sr. was Leg's lawyer. My mother, Helen Prior actually had many interactions with Leg's - he and his wife would visit my grand parents home in Selkirk, NY - he would bring his men with him and surround the home for protection - my mom said they had tommy guns. They won the case against Leg's for Kidnapping and murder (i think) and that night is when he was murdered in Albany. Thanks
