I find myself the only one in my family interested in our history...I have been doing the research for 15 years now and I love the hunt for the information and I am trying to get as much accurate info as possible. I like to have a personal photo and burial/headstone photo of each person if possible. I am in RI a native of MA so quite often I do most of my research there. | |

 | Israel precourst Hi Kathryn I noticed you had added a memorial quite some time ago for Israel and probably the rest of those mentioned on the headstone to St Marys cemetery in North Attleboro. They have recently added a link on the cemetery page of St Mary's to the old St Marys, which has its own database. i had added the Precourts there but will delete if you plan on moving your entries to that database.

 | Pickering Burial Ground Kathryn, I'm so sorry to make so much work for you! I would happily take them if you are sure. My number is 47263728. I'd be happy to ask for them each individually through the edit function if you'd like or if that makes it any easier for you.
Thanks so much for all your efforts! AmyAdded by Amy Hunt on Apr 24, 2012 7:18 AM | | | Amy Hunt
 | Pickering Burial Ground Kathryn, Thank you so, so much for all your hard work on Pickering Burial Ground. It was amazing to find all that today. I'm terribly greatful. Are you related to any of them? I sent you about a bizillion edits today, I'm so sorry to send so many but I had a lot of time to work on ancestry and find a grave and was able to sort out a lot of who is related to who thanks to all your wonderful photos.
Thanks again so much! Please don't hate me for all the messages!

 | Israel Precourt I am a direct descendant of Israel Precourt. Albini Precourt of North Attleboro was my paternal grandfather. I am the lone male of my line. I got curious about the Vanasse/Precourt connection and have found a few folks on-line. How are you connected? Many of my people (including my father William Precourt Sr.) are in St. Mary's. | | | Bruce Filgate
 | Omer Precourt (1879-1942) Here is a dilemma for you that I have uncovered in reviewing the birth and marriage registers. Although Omer Precourt (findagrave # 30169016) used Fall River as his birthplace on his marriage and 20 July as his birthdate on his WWI draft registration, his actual birth is registered as Omer Precourst on 20 June 1879 in Westport, Massachusetts.[page 156 line 30] His twin, Eva, is also recorded on this register.[p156 ln 31] The parents whose names were listed as Arthur and Emma (Heon) were residents of Westport.
Now the dilemma, Westport was originally part of Dartmouth and was incorporated in 1878 and the boundary between Westport and Fall River was not actually delineated until 1894, so depending upon where they lived, the Precourts may have been in what is now Fall River, hence Omer's use of Fall River as his birthplace may be an accurate description. Being technically inclined, my take on this is that if the birth was registered as of the town of Westport at the time of birth, his birthplace should be listed as Westport, but I will leave that up to you to decide.
You asked for records on the Precourts. I have been looking at these towns for the Precourt family prior to their time in North Attleboro and do have many of the children's U.S. birth registrations, marriage registrations, WWI draft registrations, and census records Would any of these records be of help to you? | | | Bruce Filgate
 | Omer A Precourt -St. Mary's Cemetery Just realized that I had a photograph of Omer A. Precourt's parents grave, so I have created a memorial for them. Would you link Omer Precourt to his father, Arthur Precourt (1860-1932) Find A Grave Memorial# 77365195 and his mother, Emma M (Heon)Precourt (1852-1919) Find A Grave Memorial# 77365215. Thanks once again! | | | Bruce Filgate
 | Omer Precourt You had a note on his memorial that there was a question as to the dates of Omer Precourt's birth and death. He was born 20 July 1879 Fall River, MA and died in 1942. Could you add these dates to his memorial? Thanks so much for the memorial and changing these dates. | | | BobBoston
 | RE: Find a grave- Transfer? Christensen Wesley Methodist Cemetery Kathryn, I think we are off to a bad start. I did not see how you were related... Since I can not email you I will supply the helpful suggestions here... There is help available... Check out the Editing & Correcting Memorial Information area under the "Help with Find A Grave" on the left column of your screen... There you will find: How do I get a relative's memorial transferred to me? First, Determine if you really need the memorial transferred to you for management. Transferring of management should only be requested If you have extensive changes to make to a memorial. You can add photos and suggest corrections without having to request management. Simply having someone in your family tree is not grounds for a management transfer request. With hundreds of thousands of contributors, we have many overlapping family trees and it would be impossible for all contributors to manage their entire tree.
Second, Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Third, If you have extensive additions/changes to make to a memorial, please contact the Find A Grave member who created the memorial via the "Suggest a Correction" link under the "Edit" tab on the memorial in question with your request to have the memorial management transferred to you. This will send an email request to the contributor, even if there is not an email address listed on their contributor page.
Fourth, Explain your relationship in the request! Any non-direct relatives (aunts, uncles, cousins, etc) are not required to be transferred. Keep in mind that the original contributor may also be related to the memorial and may not make the transfer. Bulk surname requests should not be made. Be advised that memorials listed as famous or maintained by Find A Grave will not be transferred.
Fifth, The "Suggest a correction" feature may also be used to submit corrections, an original biography, and family links to memorials that do not fall under the above defintion. (Be sure to include the memorial ID#s for the family links and how they are related, father, mother or spouse. The original contributor should make any corrections and add any additional information you have for that memorial, such as links to parents and spouses, provided the information is accurate.
Sixth, Please note that it is not appropriate to request a transfer and then, after receiving the transfer, delete that page and substitute it with a new memorial that you have created. This practice denies credit to the original contributor. Please use the original memorial page to make updates and add information.
I hope this helps.
Now, I was not trying to be rude... I tried to explain in prior message But I guess you took it wrong. I have in fact been contacted regards updates and I feel it is unfair to transfer without knowing the relationships.
If you had just mentioned your 80 year old grandmother or the Or the Christensens' ONLY son... So Sorry about that. Bob

 | RE: Find a grave- Transfer? Christensen Wesley Methodist Cemetery Bob,
This is awesome thank you for photographing and posting the Christensen site. Would you please transfer the following internments to me?
43672330, 43672183, 43672163, 43672199, 43672312, 43672174
Thank you for all that you do! Added by Kathryn on May 22, 2011 8:18 AM --------------------------------------------------- Wow, This is a first... Never been asked out of the blue to transfer memorials just because they thank me for photographing & posting... Is it that easy? Surely you read the guidelines about being related etc. Sorry but,... I have been contacted by others that may want them AND may be related.

 | Mary Engley 32101477 Thank you for the transfer of Mary Engley... I wasn't expecting that! I have significantly updated the memorial, adding some links and data from Vital Records that further identifies her.
