Bio and Links
Bio Photo I'm Carolyn. I am 28, and came from Kansas, originally. I am disabled due to Fibromyalgia. I like helping or contributing to whatever I can. I have interests in history, writing, photography, genealogy, art, different cultures, and love animals.
I originally joined this site because I liked the idea of making sure people that walked this earth before us, had somewhere where they could be found and remembered. Though after the loss of my grandmother that I was very close to, and combining it with the loss of a friend that took his life, Find A Grave became a haven to me. I do a lot of grieving here, and this has opened me up, and made me want to pay respect and help in remembering as many people on here as I can. No-one should be forgotten.

If you have time, please stop by and see my grandmother, Nadine; my grandfather, Bert; and my friend, Adam

Also, there is my sister-in-law's father, Mike, that died of aggressive Cancer, recently.

My paternal grandfather, Carl, that passed away in 2011 from Cancer that went to his brain, after years of battling. And my great-grandma, Wilhelmina "Minnie" (she was a centenarian; she was nearing 102-years-old when she passed away in 2002)

Aunt Maggie McCutchan - she had a very sad life

Fluffy The Cat - A survivor of abuse and neglect

Dorothy McAdam Dorothy McAdam gets very few flowers; she is a victim of suicide. Dorothy's daughter made her memorial, but her daughter has passed away since then.

If anyone has a decent bit of free time, the Auschwitz holocaust victims could really use some flowers. I have been trying to get some done, myself. Most of these people and children have only a couple flowers, or none at all.

My family:

McCutchan, Earls, Lucy, Hitzeman, Baldwin, Collins, Thomason, Huff, Crocker, Thompson, Collingsworth, Howard, Chambers, Wims, Foerster, Schmidt, Beethe/BŁthe, Rathke, Achilles, Springston, Akin, Abercrombie, Conley/Connelly, Tarvin, Bartlow, Silverthorn, Craycroft, Vickerstaff, Norton, Hummel, Arnold, Lamphere/Lanphere, Mallory, Galyean/Gallion, Cox, Darwin, Hall, Preston, Garretson, Stoneman, Toliver, Rector, Gilbert, Perryman, Barton, Selby, Evans, Benjamin, Noble, Woodward, Ward, Lucas, Dennis, Wilson.

Through family knowledge and research, I have found out my ancestry consists of: English, Irish, Scottish, Welsh, German, French, Dutch, and Native American and Italian.

I will not be able to do any requests until spring arrives. The weather is too cold and harsh to do photo requests at the present time.

If anyone needs a photo of a grave from Maxwell cemetery, just let me know. I just live a few blocks away, so it'd be no problem.

At the moment, I can mostly just help with grave photos from Maxwell cemetery in Maxwell, Story county, Iowa. I can sometimes help with Woodland cemetery outside of Maxwell.

If I have added anyone's family, please let me know and I will gladly transfer it to you - it doesn't matter to me how distantly related you are to the person. I feel it's only right that people should have their family and ancestors' memorial records. I think the point of this should be to preserve history and the people in it, give people a place to pay respect to their family, and give families infomation of their family history. I do not believe it should be about owning the most memorials, or having the highest amount of entries. I would hope that others would pay me the same courtesy.

Feel free to use the photos I've taken and added, but I'd appreciate it if you cited me; it also helps to use citation, if you are using the photos for research. Thank you

Isaac Atkinson memorial stone
Dear Carolyn,

Thank you so much for the memorial stone. I was going through my memorials and saw it. This verified that his wife was there also. I have changed her plot of UKN to Maxwell Cem.

The picture is just perfect.

Thanks from another Carolyn, have you noticed, our name is starting to become familiar again?

Woodland & Peoria cemetery

I recently found these 2 websites. I do not know if you knew about them. They contain burial records with plot information. for the Woodland Cemetery. for the Peoria Cemetery.

I found these thru the City of Maxwell website.

RE: Just Checking In
Carolyn, I is good to hear from you again. I am so sorry to hear about the unexpected death of your sister. Yes, it does have an effect on the entire family. I haven't lost one of my siblings but did lose one of my son's in a truck accident just before his 21st birthday. I am so thankful, and find great comfort, in knowing Heavenly Father's plan for our eternal family relationships. I wish you and your family the very best. I hope this Christmas will be a joyful one despite the lose of your sister.

Just Checking In
Carolyn, Wondering how you are doing? I haven't heard from you in awhile and hope that your health has been okay/better. Me, I am still working on the French family genealogy and have some requests out for tombstone pictures. If you get a chance I would love to hear how you are doing.

Emily's Chapel Cemetery
Have just recently found the Find a grave website. Came across your post about Ray Lucy and Ollie Lucy being at Emily's Chapel Cemetery. They are buried at Bowles Cemetery at Sabula, MO. I know, I have visited there my whole life and have family there. There is no public access to Bowles Cemetery any longer. The cemetery is on a privately owned farm still owned by the Bowles family, I think. I am from the area and we do know how to get there through private access. These are the Lucy family members I have transcribed from their stones.

Ray A. Lucy
June 3, 1887
May 4, 1967

Ollie E. Lucy
June 29, 1890
Oct. 26, 1966

Orvel Lucy
Mar. 25, 1911
Sept. 25, 1935

Hope this helps.
