Bio Photo I think that find a grave is a wonderful way for historians, genealogist and cemetery preservationists to combine efforts for everyone's benefit. I have found members of my family tree because of the efforts of those recording cemetery stones as memorials on this site. To those individuals, I am very grateful:-)

RE: Swartwout
Hi Melissa,

Wonderful document, thanks so much for sharing. I have attached John Henry's parents to his page and added his first wife Ella Virginia Swartwout, his second cousin. John Henry had two other children, Ruth and Sally, and not sure about their last names. Ruth was adopted and my grandfather Roeloff and Sally were raised by aunts after their mother Agnes died and John Henry became too infirm to care for them. My email is peasleenyc@gmail.com if you have anything else to share.

Swartwout
Hello,

Found your wonderful photos of Swartwout family members and wondering if you might have one of Satterlee Swartwout's younger brother John Henry Swartwout, born in 1849 and died in 1925. John Henry is my great grandfather and have been unable to find a photo of him. Thank you!

The correct photos have been uploaded for you to view on the Henry Serkes page. Sorry for the delay. We have also uploaded the death certificate if that is of any help with your research.

The grave marker for Henry Serkes has been fixed and is now standing as it should. As soon as the rain stops here and the stone has a chance to dry, I will reshoot it and let you know when I have uploaded the photo.

Henry Serkes (Find A Grave Memorial# 40578835)
I will be uploading the photo I was able to take of the back of the gravestone for Henry and Fannie Serkes. Unfortunately, the east edge of the support base for the large stone (and I assume the original footing for that base) has sunk at an angle. The large headstone has toppled forward off the base. It's lying face down directly on top of the 2 graves. So sorry :(

I will report this to the Cemetery management. This does not seem to be a human error or weather related. Just time has sunk the footing.
