I am part of a project to research the history, "residents" and eventually to record all inscriptions in Gravesend Cemetery, Kent. I am happy to take photo requests for this cemetery as I am a frequent visitor there. I am always interested to hear from anyone with any information about interesting people buried there, (they certainly don't have to be "famous"!)

I am always willing to transfer ownership of my memorials to relatives.

RE: Charles Frederick Huth
His memorial number is 32728582

I can't be sure that this is the same man, as the family seemed to favour the names Charles and Frederick! And I can't read the inscription below the name in your photograph. His death was registered in Tunbridge so it is a fairly safe bet. Can you visit the churchyard easily? I live in Hampshire so not so easy for me! His family were leading merchant bankers of the day and he was a noted art collector. He was the grandfather of Capt Guy Dickson (number 12979918 ) whose grave I look after.

Charles Frederick Huth
If this is the person I think it is, his date of birth is 07.11.1806 and his date of death is 11.03.1895. I can provide other information if you would like

Church of the Holy Apostles, Istanbul
Hello, js! I notice that you have created a number of memorials for the Church of the Holy Apostles in Istanbul, some for individuals born or buried before the year 1000. I have only a few such memorials but have not been able to figure out, or find in the FAQ, how to enter dates prior to the year 1000. The program rejects three-digit years and does not accept 0 as the initial number. How did you do this?
Grateful for any advice you can offer,

PS. If you have time, please take a look at one such memorial, (which I linked to one of your own):

I'd be grateful for your opinion on how I entered the queen's name, with no surname. (I don't think Eudocia was a surname--but will do a bit more research on that.) I've asked for a lot, I know!! :-)

Benjamin Newcome 1775
In Grenada there is a grave of Frederick Newcome Esq. He died on 25th November 1797 and was buried in the upper gardens of the Government House. He was secretary to the Governor.

He was the son of Dr. Newcome late dean of Rochester

RE: St James Cemetery & Charlton Cemetery Dover
Many thanks for your reply. It was not you who put his memorial on, it was International Wargraves, you just put the photo on.

St James Cemetery & Charlton Cemetery Dover
I am hoping you can help me although it is a long shot.
You have put a gravestone photo for Hugh Staunton Hornby id 24364866 on the website. He is entered under St James Cemetery, Dover. International Wargraves put his memorial on. You have also added a number of other photos of the Cemetery.
You have also added some cemetery photos on the Charlton Cemetery, Dover page.
Do you know if they are the same cemetery?
I ask because Hugh Staunton Hornby was buried at Charlton Cemetery as shown on the CWGC, and also the Dover Express has his coroners report and states his funeral at Charlton Cemetery.
Many thanks
