Bio and Links
Bio Photo I discovered Find A Grave while searching for the grave of my grandfather's brother. This simple little search sent me on a mission to search for my ancestors and get some of my family history on Find A Grave. Once I got hooked on genealogy, I decided I could help others by adding names to the site so that sent me onto my new "hobby" - photographing graves, and now I am totally addicted. I hope my work on Find A Grave will help others in their search or allow them to "visit" a loved one's grave.

I'm not one of those people who think they give a prize for managing the most memorials. If you have any connection to someone that I have created a memorial for, I will gladly transfer it, as long as they are not in my tree.

The Bismarck Tribune did a very nice article on my cemetery project a while back. Click Here to view the article.

I have set up a Tribalpages family tree. Click on the link below to view it.

If I have taken a photograph of your ancestor's tombstone and it is of poor quality (shadows/overgrown with grass/hard to read/etc), please let me know and I will see what I can do about taking a better one. Some markers do not photograph well no matter what the angle of the sun is.

RE: Fairview Cemetery grave photos
Hi, Brian --

Have you been, or do you plan to go, to the cemetery at Shields? There is practically nothing at the place that was once the town of Shields. We looked for the cemetery when we were back there, but were unable to find it. My husband has several relatives buried there, most with only the small funeral home markers, probably unreadable now, but there is one WWI veteran, supposedly with a military grave marker. I have posted (again) a photo request on Find A Grave, but have had no success.

Thanks again, for the work you are doing.

Thanks Brian,

I changed the cemetery to Fair Hill.

That darn rain must be wreaking havoc... I sure don't care for ticks, so I'll have to be careful when I go back out again in a few months. Have your wife give you a good look over. ;-(
I had one embedded in me when I was very young, and it left a scar on my stomach...

Hi Debbie,

I was taking photos at Fairview cemetery in Morton county today. I noticed your memorial for Agnes Ferderer and did not notice any new graves there so thought I would look at this one closer. Although the obit says Fairview cemetery, she should be in Fair Hill cemetery in Flasher (the cemeteries are not too far apart). I checked the county cemetery book and do see a listing for him there so I set up a memorial for him.

Took lots of photos today and got too much sun and lots of ticks. Took a good shower but still feel creepy crawly.

Take care,

Brian

Hi Brian, The message about the photo did come through. Thank you so much for the great photo and for adding the one to her husband's memorial also. Is her stone next to his or is her info on the back of his stone? I know that my aunt's & their daughter's info are all on the back of my uncle's stone in Golden Gate National Cemetery in California so was wondering if this was the practice in all the National & Veteran's Cemeteries.

Fairview Cemetery grave photos
Hi, Brian --
Fairview Cemetery in Morton County, ND is a really out-of-the-way destination for finding graves to photograph, and I am glad to have them added. When we visited there several years ago searching for relatives' graves, the bugs were thick and they were ravenous, so we didn't stay very long. Hope you found the situation better.
Thanks again for the grave photos.
