I was born and raised in Atlanta, but have lived most of my adulthood in Charlotte, North Carolina. Coincidentally I ended up right where my roots are on my father's side of the family. Genealogy is my passion and I never met a cemetery I didn't like. I'm also into historic preservation, both of buildings and the lives of people no longer with us.|
As the daughter of a general and great-granddaughter of 3 Confederate veterans, I like to note military records of veterans on their findagrave memorials.
I welcome corrections/additions, but will no longer link to a "burial unknown" person. I have found this leads to duplicates.
FAMILIES ON MY FATHER'S SIDE: Irwin, DeWeese, Blackwelder, Babcock, Taylor, Wilbon.
FAMILIES ON MY MOTHER'S SIDE: Bryan, Battle, Pope, Atkinson, Yarbrough, Chappell.

Thank you for the correction I have placed Ollie Farrington in Cemetery #3 of the Sugaw/Creek Cemetery. I have tried to get records from the church to verify that she is there and what cemetery she is in no luck getting hold of them folks. I also placed her sister in Number 3 Paluine Farrington Bullard both are buried over there that I do know .I searched the cemetery in front of the church with no luck of finding them both. I assumed that was #2 but #2 must be the one grown all up in that parking lot I guess #1 is behind the church. I viewed listing the number 2 cemetery, there are others buried there listed that are modern burials just saying they must be wrong place also if #2 has not had a burial since 1880.Maybe you can help if you go by there im in Virginia.

Hay i sorry when i started to enter the names to these cemeteries i had no idea the were #3 locations, In the burial records it did not say 1,2, or 3. I figured out after i enter a least half of them. So if enter them in the wrong Cemetery im sorry just let me know and i will correct them A.S.A.P.
|Robert C. Peurifoy||McFayden|
Did just notice on some things, such as Paul Jr.'s draft certificate, it is spelled MacFayden. Very confusing. Most are listed on Ancestry as MacFayden.
|Robert C. Peurifoy||RE: McFadyen family|
I see some of the mispellings. But some of MacFadyen and other McFadyn.
I think I had it in my mind as Mom always pronounced it McFadden. In doing research found several around the state with different names.
Now I gotta go back and fix a number of them.

I guess My mother worked with Dr. MacFayden Jr.
Trying to find a DC for Archibald MacFayden. He's not listed of F-G.

|Jane Burge Wildman||RE: Russell Burge|
William Russell Burge is 162 of Burge in NC. He is listed as being buried in Carolina Memorial Park. However, there is conflicting information as to where it is. One listing says Mountain View, Stokes County, NC and the other is Concord, Cabarrus County, NC. I would like to know which is correct if you know.

I just got on Find a Grave site for the first time in a very long time and was so please to find my dad's older brother's memorial. Russell was so fondly remembered by daddy. I have often wondered where he was buried. He did indeed die in Martinsville, VA (not Marthasville) of a congenital heart condition. He was initially buried in Roselawn cemetery in Martinsville and later moved to NC by Myrtle. My grandfather owned a grocery store in Winston Salem and was once sheriff of Forsyth county prior to moving to Martinsville in 1931.
I have pictures that I can upload later as well as more family information about family relationsips I can give you.

Thank you for posting Farr information. This is my mom's line, and I'm too far away (mile-wise) to have taken photos for myself. Thank you again!
