Bio

I am a genealogy nut! I discovered family history when I was 14 and have not been the same since. Love to share but expect the same. As our family expanded, so did my research. I was born and grew up in Port Lavaca on the middle of the Texas coast.

Some of my lines I am researching: McCown, Turner, Skates, Hunt, Byrd, Clark, Simpson, Williams, Vaughn, Beasley, Baird, Beckman, Schulz.

Some of my wife's lines: Hoyle, Roberts, Blankenship, Tharp, Bear/Bare/Bair. On her Mom's side they are all Swedish, so the name changed every generation.

Lines of my son-in-law's Dad's side: Betts, Boyd, Dixson/Dixon, Huckabee, Gibson, and Meek. His Mom's side: Brannan, Pacetti, Masters, Andreu, Fouche, Rogero, Llina, Triay. Most her lines are from Menorca, and moved to Florida in 1768.

Find A Grave is a great site. I feel it is our duty to edit and keep a memorial up to date as long as we are living. It will be an even greater service for future generations.

I do know the guidelines of Find a Grave, but will transfer regardless of guidelines, unless it is my family, or someone I especially care about. I also have no hangups about linking to memorials that have no definite burial place. Many times I know the county and even the part of the county an ancestor lived, so that's better than just having USA.

I do have a website (https://www.mccown.org) , but no information is posted on living family, although I do collect information on down to date when I can get it.
