I am the daughter of Marve L. Strouss and Pauline B. (Caldwell) Strouss. I miss them everyday but I know one day we will be together in Heaven. I miss mom and dad both so much and Heaven is sweeter than ever to me because they are both with Jesus waiting for me. (Please see a note for prayers for me at the bottom of my page.)
I am married to a wonderful man Clair. We have 4 grown children and 8 grandchildren.
My son Jim Bradley is now on Find A Grave. He has found and added many of our blood relatives and I am so proud of him.
My precious Mother Pauline Strouss August 6,1917-Jan. 1, 1997 Wedding Anniversary January 28
My precious dad Marve Strouss June 27, 1921-March 18, 2006
My birth brother Carl Davis Sept. 8, 1954-Dec. 2, 2007
My birth sister's husband Dennis Lickly July 7, 1948-Aug. 28, 2006 I was at his and my sister's house for a few days after he became so ill. My sister did not want to be alone. When I saw he was getting worse I stood by his bed rubbing his face. Tears ran down his face as I told him not to be afraid. He promised he would give all my loved ones in Heaven a hug and he slipped away.
My wonderful birth grandparents are Goldie 1887-1962 & Herman Verro 1890-1974

****************************** Thank you Rosie for adding me to your page for prayers. I'd also like to thank sr/ks, GeorgiaCA, and In Loving Memory, Maggie for putting me on their page for prayers. Thanks to all who do that for me.
In Oct. 2010 they did a bronchoscopy while I was in the hospital and found I have MRSA in the lungs. That was when I had the pneumonia for the second time in 2 months. My lungs were so bad my oxygen went to only 68%. I was not expected to live. I spent many days in ICU and then on the regular floor.
I now have the MRSA in my bones and joints along with my lungs. At least no one can catch MRSA from me since it is inside my body. They believe the repeated pneumonia I have had so often since I was 9, almost yearly, is why my lungs are so scarred. The scarring (Pulmonary fibrosis)is what might kill me as it never stops. It will keep on scarring until it uses all the space for oxygen and it then takes all your breath away.
I went to other doctors and also a lung specialist. They all say the same thing my lungs have been destroyed to the point that I can't recover. No lung transplant for me because of diabetes, asthma, and other illnesses that could kill me.
Even the pulmonologist said that there is no hope for my lungs since they are scarred so bad. I now cough so hard that I pass out at times. The doctor said it hits some kind of nerve in the back and causes me to pass out. The pulmonologist said all I could do was pray and hope for a miracle. He said he has seen miracles before.
I wear oxygen 24/7. I am in a power chair because I can't walk 5 feet. The doctor ordered the chair for me.
I am more afraid than I have ever been in my life. I am not afraid of death because I know I will go to Heaven. I am afraid of the horrible pain I might have when I die. I have been raised in church all my life. I saw miracles and now all I can do is trust God that He will heal me or at least let me slip quickly and quietly away.
I know this is long but some people wanted to know what I am so ill from. Once again thank you for your prayers, kind words, and good thoughts.
I want everyone to pray for my healing. But if God chooses not to heal me please pray my end will be fast when the time comes. My doctor thinks in the end I might suffocate, or I could have a heart attack when my lungs shut down, or I could even have a stroke.
It makes me sad to think I do not drink, smoke or do drugs, yet my body failed. Thank you all so much for your prayers. The Dr. said I would not be alive past April 2012 and yet here I am. I am blessed and so thankful.
*** May 18, I am feeling so much better now. Before I went into the hospital I had gained 40 pounds in less than a month. Clair and I tried to tell my doctor the weight came on suddenly. He checked my legs and I showed him my belly where the whole thing had stretch marks. He said that I was pitting and needed to go to the hospital or I would die.
Any way they gave me Lasix through the IV's. While I was in the hospital they found out MRSA is now in my urinary tract. I had mostly all blood when I went to the bathroom. The doctor said I will always have MRSA in my urinary tract for the rest of my life.
I am taking the Lasix twice a day here at home. Now in a short time I have lost 56 pounds. I am now able to walk around 10 feet when I could not even walk 2 feet for months.
Even though I am still so sick I have hope and faith I will hang on longer. Please keep praying for me.***
Thanks Cindy TROLL'S Bridge Don't Stop Swinging That Hammer!

 | hallelujah :-) Very, very glad to know the lasix has brought you such tremendous relief - it is probably helping with breathing too. There's a belated Mom's Day present :-)
It would be very smart (if it has not been done already) to be sure of the cause of the rapid accumulation of fluid. It's nice the lasix works, but that kind of blow up can be kidney issues, or something else medical, or even a response to another drug you are on. (My mom gained 36 pounds of water from one of her drugs, and it was not discovered until she had a crisis and the drug was stopped and the weight fell off.)
Understood the MRSA is in your urinary system now. My mother had an infection resistant to all drugs, nothing would kill it. There are drugs (methenamine hippurate taken with vitamin C) that basically turn the urine to formaldehyde, making it very hard for any infection to flourish - it won't kill the infection, but may keep it from getting too prevalent. It may be worth asking your doc.
Just thinking out loud in case it may be useful to ask your doctor. In the meantime, enjoy this nice streak of peace you've found. Prayers of thanks said.Added by sr/ks on May 19, 2013 8:35 PM | | | purple-lady
