|Bio and Links|
A big "Thank You" goes out to everyone who sends any info and links for the memorials I've added. I regret that I cannot thank each of you individually, although with the new Edit system you now get computer-generated acknowledgements that your suggested changes and/or additions have been accepted. |
I got interested in Family History in 2007, and in 2008 and 2009 visited hundreds of my "dead relatives", as my wife so descriptively put it. (I did meet many live ones, too.) Most of the graves I visited were close relatives of my great-grandparents and one great-great-grandmother: their siblings, aunts and grand-aunts, uncles and grand-uncles, and first and second cousins.
My grandparents are:
Harold James Minteer
Ethel Lorene (Wright) Minteer
James Francis Renshaw
Mildred Joan (Woods) Renshaw
My e-mail address:
(That's RNRMinteer, which won't matter if you Copy and Paste...)
Feel free to use any of my grave marker photos any way that you want to, as few (if any) of them have any artistic value which might be covered by the intent of the Copyright clause in the Constitution. (Please note, however, that this only applies to photos with my name under them. For any others, you will need to contact the person who added them for their permission to copy and use elsewhere.)

Thanks so much for the transfers! I added the obits and linked some family members. I didn't have an obit for one of them but will add it when I do find it.

Could you please add this information in his Bio?
From Polk County Geanealogy:
POLK COUNTY'S FIRST SWEDES
Carl Gustaf Nelson, born in Uråsa, Sweden, Feb. 28, 1831, died July 7, 1901. They came to America ? to New York April 29, 1864.? Gustaf's brother, Magnus who settled in Grantsburg in 1853 after going to Sweden to fetch his sister, Christina, her three sons and three daughters, namely: Nels Daniel Anders, Erlund, (Alex), Andrew, Magnus Carl Gustaf, Johanana, Ida, Inga Lisa, Britea who married Lewis Pederson and settled near Horse Creek. Magnus Nelson brought his family o the Sand Lake (Osceola-Dresser) area. There they settled on farms; some were just grants. They established their homes on Lotus Lake/East Lake. August Nelson was a leader in the organizing the Bethesda Lutheran Church. Magnus Nelson was the first Judge in Burnett ad his daughter the first Sept. of Schools (Christina Nelson). [note 1860 Polk and 1870 Burnett U.S. census] The Gustaf Nelsons were the first Swedish family in Polk Co. The family was the early pioneers. A strong link has been forged with families in the area of Sweden from which the family came. We have great pride in our heritage. The Swen Anderson family purchased land on East Lake. (Our dad, Andrew's father)

Thanks for the heads up on the photos looking 1/4 rotated. You're right--they look perfectly fine on this end. I wonder what the prevention and/or cure is? Weird...
