|Retirement has let me really work on my genealogy research. My concentration is families in Titus and Franklin Counties. Families are so intermingled in these counties through marriage. Really trying to ensure all cemeteries in these counties are in Find-a-grave. I love when other researchers provide me with new information. Just ask and I will try and help you whenever possible.|

I'm checking further on my family records and my family tree for the parents of Thomas McCrary. I do have a different set of parents that could possibly be his but they are not what you sent me. I'll pull all my records and try to settle on the right one. If you'd like to share your source feel free to do so and I will look at it but it doesn't check out with the family records. Please know I will verify this and if I find yours are correct I will give you credit. Right now I have 2 sets of parents and none are the names you submitted. I'll let you know after I review everything.
|K Todd Sherer||Your Edit Request for "McCrary"|
I'm not accepting your edit connecting Rev. Thomas McCrary to the parents you sent me. I believe it is incorrect. Thomas is the great grandfather to my children and his parents are: William Jesse and Dorothy Elizabeth Seay McCrary. He is shown as a boy on the 1880 Census as their son if you'd like to see verification. I also have family records. Hope you understand why I denied your request.

You are welcome, Howard.
Hi Howard, this little cemetery is down in the valley, below Arden Cemetery, I was at Arden in May, someone is building a house close to where the cemetery is at. I have heard from another member that someone took the fence down and the markers are all missing. I will remember when I am out that way in May, to walk on down and find out for sure. Sorry

Hi, Howard! Hadn't said HI in a while! :) Hope you're doing WELL and READY for a BRAND NEW YEAR!!!
Hey - something curious I came across....birthdate for Robert Lee Martin on the memorial states 1886, which would make him the youngest son of Charles Douglas Martin (C. D. or Sope) & Margaret Rogers Martin....but, I found this census record:
Name: Charles D Martin
Event Type: Census
Event Year: 1880
Event Place: Precinct 1, Titus, Texas, United States
Marital Status: Married
Race (Original): W
Relationship to Head of Household: Self
Relationship to Head of Household (Original): Self
Birth Year (Estimated): 1848
Birthplace: Tennessee, United States
Father's Birthplace: Virginia, United States
Mother's Birthplace: Tennessee, United States
Sheet Number and Letter: 323B
Affiliate Name: The U.S. National Archives and Records Administration (NARA)
Affiliate Publication Number: T9
Affiliate Film Number: 1328
GS Film Number: 1255328
Digital Folder Number: 004244800
Image Number: 00655
Household / Role Gender Age
Charles D Martin Self M 32 Tennessee, United States
Margaret Martin Wife F 27
Alabama, United States
Marion Martin Son M 2
Texas, United States
Douglas Martin Son M 0
Texas, United States
Thomas Martin Brother M 27 Tennessee, United States
Robert L Martin Son M 1
Texas, United States
Citing this Record:
"United States Census, 1880," index and images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MFJ6-YYW : accessed 30 April 2015), Charles D Martin, Precinct 1, Titus, Texas, United States; citing enumeration district 107, sheet 323B, NARA microfilm publication T9 (Washington D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, n.d.), roll 1328; FHL microfilm 1,255,328.
So: I'm thinking that 1886 might be incorrect?
Marion in this record is Arther Marion Martin....Douglas is Bertram Douglas....so, that would make Herman Moose born after this census; thus making him the youngest of this family (unless there are others we haven't found)... :)
Do you know if Margaret & Sope Martin got a divorce? Sope married Lenore Onanna (Ona) Newman Martin in 1896...but, Margaret didn't pass away until 1910...another curious puzzle... :)
Hope this information is helpful! I'll try to find more documentation on Robert Lee Martin, though - will keep in touch, Dear! :)
THANKS, AGAIN, for all you do on FINDAGRAVE! :)

Just noticed a possible error on this one. The birth date appears a century later than the death date!
Thank you for all the amazing work you've done!

This is on her death certificate. But I see the photo of the gravestone with your dates. How strange is that???

Thanks for your time and diligence toward improving Sgt. Dees' memorial, by linking his parents. This, and all your other efforts are truly appreciated.
