|Laurie Smith||RE: Creel/Martin|
I don't know if I answered this email or not. I would love to link to you on Ancestery.com. I was looking at my grand parents and great grand parents and it looks great. You have done a great job. I am wondering soemthing though. My great grandma was Vessie Martin (Creel) but we knew her name to be Bessie with a B. I wonder when or how that got changed. Any ideas?
Thanks for all your hard work.
P.S. I think one of the updates I was going to give you is Vessie Martin's great great grandsons has passed away. His name is Chance Lee Smith and he is buried in Collinsville oK. He is on this site.

|Mark Race||Abraham Rippetoe|
Charles, Abraham definitely married Mary Elizabeth Greenbank on Sep 16, 1891. They moved to Colorado in 1910, then on to California & appear in the 1920 US Census with sons, Earnest & Morrell.
There is an AF Rippetoe that married a Mary Anna Tandy in Davis County Iowa on the 29th of June 1887. At first I thought it was Abraham also, parents are the same, Caleb & Mary. It may be a coincidence or Abraham had a brother named Albert. I did not see that in the 1870 and 1880 US Census's. Regardless, There is a memorial for Albert F and Mary Anna Tandy Rippetoe In Ancestry as well as the death certificate for Mary A Tandy Rippetoe.
Mary Anna died in Kansas City, 24 Jul 1951 & was buried in Colchester, Illinois.
DEATH CERTIFICATE # 23198-MISSOURI. DIED AT THE INDEPENDENCE AVE. NURSING HOME
BURIAL AT THE MOUNT AUBURN CEMETERY, COLCHESTER, IL PER F.A.G. # 76651938 ON SEPT. 17, 2011
Albert & Abraham had to have been brothers, there is not that much coincidence in the world.
Just did a little more searching.. are you Charlie7011 in Ancestry? Sending a message there...

I may be of some help with what I have read on Abraham's Find A Grave Memorial.
There is a multitude of documentation regarding the a marriage between a Mary Elizabeth Greenbank of Colchester, McDonough, Illinois. & Abraham Ripptoe.
I have not located any information that states that she had a previous marriage to anyone that would resulted in her last name being "Tandy", at this point.
I am doing research into my own family & am I just starting on the Greenbank lineage. The Greenbank Family is very well documented in Colchester, Illinois, the majority of the family is buried in Mount Auburn Cemetery in Colchester.
Mary Elizabeth was born to William Greenbank Jr. (1836-1899) & Jane "Jennie" Thompson(1846-1903). she was born 3 FEB 1868 • Tennessee, McDonough, Illinois, died 30 MAY 1959 • Los Angeles, Los Angeles, California.
If you are still searching out information please contact me at email@example.com. Please put Mary Elizabeth Greenbank Ripptoe in the subject line... It won't get lost in any spam that I receive.
Mary Elizabeth's grandparents William Greenbank Sr & Jane Ann Race were both from England, William (Sr) from Boroughbridge, Yorkshire, England & Jane from West Pitts, Durham, England.
They too are buried in Colchester, Illinois at Argyle Cemetery, Plot: NE section. They can be found in Find-A-Grave, memorial's 62557846 & 62558359.

Maybe I'm not looking in the right place, but I can't find the message to accept at Ancestry. There are no messages when I click on the message envelope. I can't find any other messages. Is there somewhere else I should look? I haven't learned much about Ancestry yet, so I'm sure I'm missing something. Sorry.
