SOC David Collins at ANC
Hi,
The stone for SOC David Collins was put in place last week at Arlington National. In response to your photo request of 9/3, I've posted photos of his stone on his memorial.

Thank you for your patience!

Captain Iannelli
My daughter and I attended the funeral of Captain Iannelli to show our respect to him for his ultimate sacrifice--his life--to defend our country. Kelly wrote an essay about showing pride in America's military for the Williamstown VFW. The following are short excerpts of her essay.
"Being proud of something...brings a sense of unity to people. Captain Ryan Iannelli of the US Marine Corps is a hometown hero from Clarksboro, NJ. Late in September, Captain Ianelli paid the ultimate sacrifice while on tour in Afghanistan. He was described by many as being very charismatic, loving, funny, and faithful. All of these characteristics left a lasting impression on many people...as many military deaths do. ...It pains (Americans) to hear about another fallen soldier."
"At the burial ceremony for the Captain, I noticed that everything was handled with prestige and honor. Captain Iannelli's body and family were escorted to the veterans' cemetery in Williamstown by state police. Entering the cemetery, the Captain as well as his friends and family went under an American flag held up by Williamstown and Washington Twp fire trucks. ...there were about a hundred veterans on their motorcycles with the American flags waving proudly behind them. Not only were there many veterans but there were many current US Marines paying their respects to their fallen brother...I could tell that he was and will be forever, a proud Marine in the United States military."
Kelly and I never met the Captain but he has left a lasting impression on our lives.
With profound thanks Captain Iannelli,
Sandy Boyd

Capt William Forman Abernethy
Wings214, Thanks for your suggestion to add the citation for the Silver Star awarded to Capt Abernethy to his memorial page # 116255300.

We added all the citations for DSC, DFC, SS, SM to Military Times Hall of Valor. Adding the links to the 730 memorial pages was our next project. Thanks for your help.

Regards, Allen 11th ACR 966-1967
