Howdy hi! While you're here, I'd appreciate it if you'd leave a flower for my grandma, Lola June "Nan" Beckstead. She passed away in 2009, and things just haven't been quite the same since then.|
I got into Find A Grave after Nan passed away. There was some animosity within my family, and as a result, she never had an obituary in the paper and she was never interred with Grandpa like she wanted. I felt like everyone was trying to forget my Nanny. A couple years after her passing I made her a memorial on Find A Grave so I could have somewhere to go to remember her, and let everyone know what a great person she was.
After I made her memorial I made one for my grandpa, and my great-grandparents, and eventually I started taking pictures at local cemeteries and making memorials for people I didn't even know. I enjoy the research aspect, but most importantly I don't want anyone to be forgotten, just like I made sure Nan wasn't.
When I'm not out graving I'm an avid crocheter and crazy cat lady, and I'm rather fond of sitting around playing video games instead of getting a haircut and/or a real job. I've also recently taken up fishkeeping.
I spent the first 19 years of my life in Reno, Nevada, but on July 21, 2015 I packed up my 35 pets and moved to Phoenix, Arizona to pursue a degree in Mortuary Science at Mesa Community College. Unfortunately, we had one casualty during the trip, one of our beloved fancy mice. Minnie Mae will be forever missed!
Most of my ancestors hail from Utah. My family tree includes the following surnames: Beckstead, Butterfield, Channing, Childs, Cowdell, Dody, Haddenham, Jacobsen, Jenkins, Johnson, Reed and Thompson.
I will transfer any of my memorials to anyone that requests them (except of course my grandparents, Francis & Lola Beckstead, and my great-grandparents, Lizzie & David Channing and Ivies & Myrtle Beckstead). Whether it's out of guidelines or in bulk; if you can make the memorial(s) better, you are welcome to manage. Also feel free to use my photos, there is no need to ask permission or credit me.
If you're not a member of Find A Grave but would like me to make corrections to a memorial, feel free to send me an email! Make sure to include either a link to the memorial(s) you want corrected, or the memorial number.
If I haven't responded to your correction/email in 3-4 days, send me a message here or send me another email! Sometimes old-style corrections get lost in the mass of "Edit Processed" emails, or I just flat-out forget (I have a bad habit of reading emails at 3 am, marking them as read, then going to sleep and accidentally forgetting about them, lol).
I'm a big fan of the virtual flowers feature here on Find A Grave, so I like to leave tokens not only for the people I make memorials for, but also the families of those people, folks on the random stroll, and just any memorial I happen to visit. Most of the flowers in my scrapbook are fancy, cute, colorful, sparkly, or otherwise snazzy, and I understand this style isn't exactly everyone's cup of tea. So, if you don't like a token I've left for your loved one, just send me a message or an email and I'll be happy to replace it with something different or remove it altogether (whichever you prefer).

I just wanted to thank you for leaving a nice token at Easter for my dearest Aunt, Olive "Almeta" Kennedy. She was more like a Mother to me. Thanks so much! I'll try & repay you by visiting your Grandmother. Not tonight tho. I'm about to fall asleep. :)

No, no, again, you manage so well. As I said, once I find (or not) the obit, I'll delete the duplicate. I so wish other contributors that I contact would manage their memorials as well!

Thanks so much for the transfer -- but, no need to transfer any more of that branch to me. You manage so well, and I finished up my research and write of that branch yesterday for my Dayton listings. I also found Amy's obit as well as Bert's, Ruels, James and Lawrence's, and Daisy's death announcement, so will pass along to you for those that you manage. I wanted to find them simply for a follow up of the descendants of our Millsap pioneers.
I am SO glad that I discovered my surname misspelling -- your credit as a contributor and gravestone photo saved the day, because rather than dismissing the oa spelling as yet another gravestone error, I pursued the matter -- also called Mountain View to check their record. Um-m, a caution to me that even multiple sources can be incorrect.
I am going to add Linnie's information and obit and will transfer back to you -- Not immediately, though, since yard and house work is a must today. Yesterday was all research and write!
Thanks so much!!

Thank you for finding and creating the memorial for my Aunt Janet, and researching her family.

No worries! Thanks so much again. I've learned this line in the family ended as neither of Nellie's children had any children. But, they're not forgotten! :-)

I'd be happy to have you transfer the three memorials. Thank you so much!

That is quiet alright......i send out and i look maybe a month later to see if they added.....if you have not done so i usually put something in virtual flower that tells them what paper its and and the date.....and let it go at that....so put it on there.......some dont. i think that it looks better on there cuz it gives people more info when they are looking for relatives.
Thanks for adding

If his marker is still there, it would be a cenotaph so, from what I have read, it would be appropriate to have a memorial there and have it marked as a cenotaph. What I have done for a few like this is add a comment in the bio section with the imbedded link to their cenotaph.
Thanks for the offer but I don't need a photo request. I'm out there pretty regularly so I'll take the picture and add it to the memorial when it's installed (it usually takes about 4-6 weeks). I'll send a marker transcription edit when I do so you'll know it's been added.

Best regards to you & yours.
