Unknown we are to each other...through time our paths have crossed...so as we visit one to another...know as family you shall never be lost.
I consider Cemeteries to be outdoor museums. I am proud to be referred to as "The Family Historian."
THE CEMETERY PHOTOGRAPHER
Wandering among the stones I see The stones so weathered and worn ‘Tis difficult to find the date On which the babe was born
I stare at the stone and am struck with awe At the life that I knew was gone This was someone's child, a babe so sweet With loved ones to carry on
So I take a photo for all to see For the family that remains An everlasting memory of A child of God's domain
I brush the weeds back from the stone And say a silent prayer For the babes that had no chance to live And for mothers everywhere
The dove calls out it's mourning song Among the stones so still Echoes of the woes, through time The choirs of despair
The stone will someday perish The flowers will be gone But a photo now remains of this Their memory lives on!
And so my friend, don't hesitate To film the weathered stone Those who live within your hearts Are never truly gone
RE: Marion warren 158319031 Thanks great use of Find A Grave I am sure at some time her cremains will be interred there sometimes the family hold onto the cremains until a later date when they can get together or the other partner passes, I thank you for the respectful way you addressed this memorial contribution its good to be able to work with another Find A Grave member by good communication as you are no doubt aware this doesn't, always happen, I hope we may be able to work together in the future . Thanks again Vaughan
RE: Marion warren 158319031 Hi again, Thanks for the updated info I have put a note on her page that it was intended to inter her remains at the cemetery at a later date and I have removed her from the cemetery listing. Thanks again for your input Have a great day Vaughan
Marion warren 158319031 Hi, Re here memorial page info from the Pueblo west funeral home her cremains are to be interred at the cemetery it may be that this has not yet been done but is going to be as stated in her obit. If you have other info please let me know Thanks Vaughan
Around 1904 there was still a cemetery in Vacaville on the hill at the west edge of what is now Andrews Park. It was shortly after that time that all burial activity was performed at the site between Marshall Road and Elmira Road (the current cemetery).
I haven't located any burial records for the Andrews Park site. If they could be located, we could create a cemetery for that defunct location.
Diane, in the current cemetery office, told me that about fifty people were moved from the Andrews Park site into individual graves at Vacaville-Elmira.
I doubt that all the graves were moved at that time, as some were probably unmarked.
Maybe the best we can do for Mr. Smith is put a note in his bio saying that he does not show in the Vacaville-Elmira cemetery record. If someone comes up with better information later, you will be able to adjust.
