I am the grandniece of Austin Wheeler Smith, who wrote the Smith-Jarratt, Dickson-McEwen, George-Lacy, and Mitchell-McGlocklin genealogies in the 1940s. Many of my memorials relate to those families (and families allied with them). My grandmother was born in an antebellum home in Collirene, Alabama, so I also research the Dudley-Pierce-Faust-Gordon and allied families from that area. |
I will be happy to transfer any of my memorials to family members who might have a closer connection than I so that you may add more information.

|Rita Balentine Hogan||Lacy|
No, not related, just researching local history. Do you know anyone who is related more closely to them?
|R. D. Lunsford||Madelyn Smith Pickens..|
My father still lives on the Pickens plantation. His boss, R. A. Pickens II (1915-1991) was married to Madelyn Smith, daughter of Henry King Smith and Ella Lyon Smith. I have done extension research on the Pickens family. Do you have a photograph of Madelyn Smith Pickens? If so can you email it to me..for our Desha County Historical Society book that is to be published. Thanks !!

I've made connection from STUBER-FOWLER-SHEPARD-WALKER to PINCHING-MALLAM-ELLIS via New Orleans connections from old ancestry tree journal. Top end links to Thomas F. Walker and family of Belfast, Ireland.

|Harriet W. Berry||Mary Caroline German Carothers, #92444564|
Hi, Betty. Just FYI, finally got to the James Carothers (f/o R.B.) cemetery in Franklin and added some photos. Of course Mary's marker would be the only one in bits and pieces, but there's a little info that's readable if enlarging the photo to full size. Can improve on that for her stone, daughter Maggie's, and Nancy Crutcher's once the leaves have fallen.
Hope all's well and that the family tree is still growing. --Harriet
