Dear Ancestor
Your tombstone stands among the rest;
Neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished, marbled stone.
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist
you died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spread out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.
You know being lonely its funny in a way on one hand i am free to explore my mind and find the answers to questions about myself but on the other hand i have no one to share the answers with..... Maybe loneliness is best with a friend

I saw that you have her burial place listed as unknown. I have visited her before at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Georgetown, Texas. She is buried as "Unidentified Woman 1979". I searched the cemetery records here on Find A Grave and found her memorial # 8520673. I assure you this is the woman known as "Orange Socks". Maybe the two separate memorials can be combined so that people can not only see her grave but know the background story as to how she became listed as unknown.
