"Will I be remembered as someone good Who answered many calls, Will I be remembered as a foolish heart Who suffered many falls. Will I be remembered by those I've loved Long after the last one cries, Will I be remembered by anyone Long after my echo dies"
From my poem 'The Hazel Wood'
I have always been more interested in the ‘What was' than the ‘What will be'. From an early age I've been fascinated with cemeteries and would often go on a cemetery safari with my dad at a moments notice. Most of all (and probably like most) I have the greatest interest in those that swung in the branches of my family tree before me. Cemeteries are like libraries for such as these, unfortunately other then when they entered and exited, little is known about them outside of the family and then only for a short time, as those that knew them themselves disappear from our lives. I find this way too sad. There is a lifetime of information in the dash between the date of birth and death. We need to recount and remember them no matter how short or long or if they ever occupied our lives. Hoping to capture what I can about my family and also adding to this site the resting-places of those I do not know, so that perhaps you may find a piece of your past.
And remember my motto to live by: "Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways; a great cigar in one hand and a fine single malt scotch in the other, body thoroughly used up and totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!"

 | Hollywood Cemetery-two of them Hi there- you have posted photos of both cemeteries on their respective pages. Is it one large cemetery with two entrances or what? Please help me decipher what is going on here!
Thank you.Added by ditdit on Mar 25, 2013 6:58 AM | | | Anonymous
 | Whitney houston Is there a grave picture? | | | All my ♥ Julie
 | Hi Mark Thanks for adding the burial site for Whitney Houston. Such a sad ending to a beautiful lady and beautiful voice.
I was wondering if you could add one other picture of Whitney, maybe with her browner hair and a more glamorous photo to her site. I do not know who handles this, but wanted to check with you first.
I read your bio. It's interesting how so many on Findagrave have their own stories to tell, and sometimes who have the same feelings.
God bless, Julie | | | Kate Roy
 | Thomas and Mary Bodley (and other graves at Westminster) Dear Mark,
I am researching the following family names who were connected with Thomas Bodley in Baltimore Town, ca. 1795:
Adams: William Adams (abt 1750-1795) m. Catharine Turnpaugh Dewitt (abt 1752-1795) birth year for Catharine is a guess, both years of death are accurate
Dewitt: Thomas Dewitt m. Catharine Turnpaugh; son: Thomas Dewitt, Jr. aka Thomas Dewitt Adams Catharine (Catherine) Dewitt (grandaughter of Catharine Turnpaugh Dewitt Adams)
Turnpaugh (Dornbach): Christopher (abt 1735 - shortly before Aug 21, 1805) and Anna Catharina (parents of Catharine Turnpaugh)
I am curious as to whether you obtained your info for the Westminster Burial Ground from walking the property or from the records. I have not located graves for any of the above. Thomas Bodley is named executor in the will of Thomas Dewitt, Sr. as "my friend and kinsman"

 | Many thanks! Thank you very much for providing the lovely photos! Jonathan Osborn was my 5th great grandfather, finding the photo you took of his headstone was exciting. I have added it to our family history. Many thanks and kind regards, Barb LaFara | | | | [View all messages...] |
