I have lived in Platte County, Missouri all my life and since retirement, I now have time to work on Family Tree. My father's family came to Platte County abt 1890 and my mother's family came to Platte County abt 1850. My wife's family have lived in Platte County since 1841. I volunteer at the Platte County Historical Society and enjoy finding families at cemeteries.|
Permission is granted to use any of my photos.

|Dean Chapman||RE: Abrather Culver|
I'm not related to Abrather Culver, but his obituary was too good to pass up.
Incidentally, I have a terrific family photo of about 26 people--closely related, judging by their dark eyes, dating back to maybe the late 1800's, which I acquired from an elderly distant cousin from Platte County. If you or anyone from the Platte County Historical Society would care to take a stab at identifying these people, please contact me.
My e-mail: email@example.com
You and I are cousins of some sort.

If you get an opportunity could you go to Laurel Hill Cemetery in Platt County and take a picture of the Headstone of William H. Hedges if there is one? Thanks, John Kizer
|Ann Kerns-Marsh||Elizabeth Arnold wf of John L. Munsell|
Could you please transfer Elizabeth Arnold - Munsell # 61497302 and John L. Munsell # 61496932 to me? He is my great Uncle. Also, do you know the names of the 2 little girls mentioned in Elizabeth's obit? I have some children listed in census records as " living with grandparent William and Susannah Munsell but can't find who the parents were. If you'd like to transfer any other Munsell or Arnold relation I'll gladly take them. :)

My paternal grandparents, Ulan S Miller and Helen (Somers) Miller are buried at Pleasant Ridge, as well as MANY of my relatives. I have lots of pictures of related descendants, as well as some really neat headstones that I just wanted to photograph, available (even Abe Lincoln's 1st Mary). Just send me the name and I can look through the photos I have and see if I have a photo. Pleasant Ridge is a beautiful and peaceful cemetery. I love going there to visit my grandparents, great grandparents and other family.

Sir, Would it be possible to ask what is your source for Mary to be the d/o George Dunn III? I am a distant cousin of Mary and am preparing a newsletter regarding the Dunn family. Would appreciate anything you could pass on.

Thank you for the information for Daisy. Some information is missing from her page, however. She had 2 more siblings--Marvin Thomas, and Ella Bell Eskridge Cox. Also, her grandfather's name was Sydnor, not Sidney (it's an unusual name that probably led to the error). Daisy is descended from a very prominent Virginia family. Her 3x great grandfather was Col. George Eskridge, who raised Mary Ball in his home, following the death of her parents. Mary was the mother of George Washington, first president of the US. A historical marker near Mary Ball Washington's home indicates that she named her son, George Washington, after her much loved guardian, Col. George Eskridge. Col. Eskridge was a prominent attorney, landowner (12,600+ acres), member of the House of Burgesses, and prominent citizen. Daisy was also much loved by her family, and greatly mourned following her death at such a young age. I have a book of poetry given to Louisa by Thomas, following Daisy's death. Unfortunately, both Daisy's parents would die not long after she did, most likely from flu epidemics. Her siblings were sent to live in different homes, divided up in the cemetery following Thomas' burial. Their extended family was in Virginia, where Thomas was born. Thank you for sharing this information. Ella Bell Eskridge Cox was my great grandmother, and often told stories of her family history. Unfortunately, the misspelling of Sydnor's name might make it difficult for others trying to trace our family's history. Thank you for all of your work in this area.
|Lesa Pfrommer||Leonida Berry|
She is definitely in the Agency Cemetery ledger. It states she was interred 7/1905, however Leonida is on a page with 1921 burials. Maybe she was moved after the 1919 death of her grandmother. I have posted a plot map on her memorial. Thanks for the obit.
