This poem tells the story of how I feel each time I walk though a grave yard. I hope you enjoy it, as much as I do.|
THE RECORDING OF A CEMETERY
by Thelma Greene Reagan
Today we walked where others walked
On a lonely, windswept hill;
Today we talked where other cried
For Loved Ones whose lives are stilled.
Today our hearts were touched
By graves of tiny babies;
Snatched from the arms of loving kin,
In the heartbreak of the ages.
Today we saw where the grandparents lay
In the last sleep of their time;
Lying under the trees and clouds -
Their beds kissed by the sun and wind.
Today we wondered about an unmarked spot;
Who lies beneath this hollowed ground?
Was it a babe, child, young or old?
No indication could be found.
Today we saw where Mom and Dad lay.
We had been here once before
On a day we'd all like to forget,
But will remember forever more.
Today we recorded for kith and kin
The graves of ancestors past;
To be preserved for generations hence,
A record we hope will last.
Cherish it, my friend; preserve it, my friend,
For stones sometimes crumble to dust
And generations of folks yet to come
Will be grateful for your trust.

I think you have the correct headstone for Etta. I was looking at the records I have for her and I have that she did marry someone with the surname Lowe. I didn't know his first name or when they married. She had married at least four different times. Donald Reber was her current husband at the time of her death. They were married in 1952.
Thank you so much for taking the photo of her gravestone. You did a great job! It has helped me solve what his name was. One down, one more mystery name to solve for her. I am sorry it was so confusing with the surnames. It is hard to keep up with all of these marriages. ;)
I appreciate all you do.
Have a great weekend!

Thank you so much. Ron was a good friend of my late husband.
Thanks for the help, been doing this for while and
I'm not as young as I once was. Health problems have slowed me down. I am also limited to half days at the Air Show, back to genealogy on Monday. Have a great weekend...Richard
Could you add the photo to her husband memorial. I have linked them. Thanks for you time to take these photos for me.. Richard
