Howdy hi! While you're here, I'd appreciate it if you'd leave a flower for my grandma, Lola June "Nan" Beckstead. She passed away in 2009, and things just haven't been quite the same since then.
I got into Find A Grave after Nan passed away. There was some animosity within my family, and as a result, she never had an obituary in the paper and she was never interred with Grandpa like she wanted. I felt like everyone was trying to forget my Nanny. A couple years after her passing I made her a memorial on Find A Grave so I could have somewhere to go to remember her, and let everyone know what a great person she was.
After I made her memorial I made one for my grandpa, and my great-grandparents, and eventually I started taking pictures at local cemeteries and making memorials for people I didn't even know. I enjoy the research aspect, but most importantly I don't want anyone to be forgotten, just like I made sure Nan wasn't.
When I'm not out graving I'm an avid crocheter and crazy cat lady, and I'm rather fond of sitting around playing video games instead of getting a haircut and/or a real job. I've also recently taken up fishkeeping.
I spent the first 19 years of my life in Reno, Nevada, but on July 21, 2015 I packed up my 35 pets and moved to Phoenix, Arizona to pursue a degree in Mortuary Science at Mesa Community College. Unfortunately, we had one casualty during the trip, one of our beloved fancy mice. Minnie Mae will be forever missed!
Most of my ancestors hail from Utah. My family tree includes the following surnames: Beckstead, Butterfield, Channing, Childs, Cowdell, Dody, Haddenham, Jacobsen, Jenkins, Johnson, Reed and Thompson.
I will transfer any of my memorials to anyone that requests them (except of course my grandparents, Francis & Lola Beckstead, and my great-grandparents, Lizzie & David Channing and Ivies & Myrtle Beckstead). Whether it's out of guidelines or in bulk; if you can make the memorial(s) better, you are welcome to manage. Also feel free to use my photos, there is no need to ask permission or credit me.
If you're not a member of Find A Grave but would like me to make corrections to a memorial, feel free to send me an email! Make sure to include either a link to the memorial(s) you want corrected, or the memorial number.
If I haven't responded to your correction/email in 3-4 days, send me a message here or send me another email! Sometimes old-style corrections get lost in the mass of "Edit Processed" emails, or I just flat-out forget (I have a bad habit of reading emails at 3 am, marking them as read, then going to sleep and accidentally forgetting about them, lol).
Family transfers Thank-you so much for the transfers. Like you I do this because of my great-grandmother. I found a letter in my grandmother's things where a good friend of hers said in a letter that just before she died (a young mother of 4 and only 32) that she was afraid they would go on without her. Well, like you, I am on a quest to gather the family and make sure they are honored. I looked at the sites and you have done a wonderful job. Thank you and thank you again.
Eva Elizabeth Wilson Thanks for putting these graves on for us researchers. I don't have a lot of time to go looking for this type of information. The information listed on this site helped me so much in filling in information about this great aunt. Such as married name and actual death date. Blessing on to you for this fabulous service.
RE: Francis (Frank) Vernon Roza Hi, That would be great...I've been working on Frank's branch of the Tree and have up-to-date data. I grew up with Frank, Jr. and knew both Frank, Sr. and his wife Ruth. Frank senior's first wife, Dorothy, is my mother's sister. Thanks for the response, Harley
Francis (Frank) Vernon Roza Hi, Frank was born January 4, 1912 in San Luis Obispo, San Luis Obispo County, California. He died August 15, 2000 in Carson City, Carson County, Nevada. Frank was my uncle when he was married to my mother's sister. He married about 1933 to Dorothy Angelica Reis. They had one child, Francis Vernon Roza, Jr. born in 1934. Frank and Dorothy divorced about 1946. Frank remarried in 1950 to Ruth Melissa (nee Nance) Faber. J. Harley Pipkin email@example.com
