I'm stuck on them too unfortunately. Haven't been able to trace back beyond the 1860 census in Tishomingo County, Mississippi.

|Lynn||RE: Jane Rooker - 12653614|
I'm so excited to hear from you. I have always wondered about the Rooker family as they seem to have been close to the Chessor family. My great-grandparents, Paul & Bertha Chessor, married in 1921 and set up house in what was referred to as "the old Rooker house." I'm not sure if the house was previously owned by Jane Rooker or not, but I assume whoever the previous owners were had some sort of connection to the Jane Rooker in the photos I posted.
Regarding the photos, I believe the Jane Rooker in the photo is the same person who is listed on the 1920 census for Hickman Co., TN as being 75 years old, a widow, and living with her daughter Ida Rooker, age 34, single. (Ida is in the photos with Jane.) In the 1920 census, they are living two households down from Noah Chessor. (Noah is in the photos I posted).
Ida Rooker, born 1884, died 1958, is also buried in Chessor Cemetery. I assume this is the same person as listed in the 1920 census. Ida is buried in the 16th row of the cemetery next to "Mr. and Mrs. Rooker." On her death certificate, her parents are listed as "Jesse Rooker" and "Jane McDonald." The informant was Jess Qualls of Linden, TN.

|Hutchinson & Cortright||RE: Sally Miller Stephens|
I'm related to Sally Miller Stephens & Thomas Stephens through their daughter, Jenetta J Stephens who married Jesse Cobb. Their son, Tom Cobb, was married to Sarah Elizabeth Crockett. Their daughter, Abigail Cobb, was married to Jerry Delk. Jerry Delk was my gr.gr.grandfather.
How do you tie in with Sally Miller Stephens? I also see you are interested in the surname Coble! I wonder about Cobb and/or Coble?? Same?? I know someone who is trying to do research on Coble; also saw that name as a new Patriot in my DAR publication.
Thomas Stephens from SC. I believe he served in Rev. War from Virginia and also in SC. So far I haven't been able to make connection (documented) between Thomas & daughter, Jenetta J.
Look forward to hearing from you.
