Bio and Links
Bio Photo I live in Vancouver, Washington, and Rancho Mirage, California. I was born in Los Angeles, California. My research consists of:

On my maternal side: Graber/Toothaker/Trimm/Funk/Dotts/Picken/Shawver/Shober and related families. From Pennsylvania to Iowa.

On my paternal side:
Graham/Beck/McKee/Ferris/Marts and related families.

I also research Chown/Eakin/Dewey/Bamford/Lee and related families on my Husband's side of the family. The descendants of Roger Chown and Sarah Thorn, from Devon, England to Kingston, Ontario, Canada, to Portland, Oregon are my husband's ancestors. The Eakin's are his mother's family.

I have been enjoying genealogy research since 1999.

Let me know if I can help you.

RE: Catharine Elizabeth Jamison Downs
Judy, my husband tried to email you last night, but the email was rejected. Can you verify that is correct?
Thanks a bunch,

RE: Catharine Elizabeth Jamison Downs
Hi Judy,

Catharine is related to the ancestors of my husband, Les. He's done extensive research on the Downs line and he'll answer your email directly.

I'm glad we found each other on FindAGrave!

RE: records for Garetta Wilson McKee
Thank you Judy..I have that same information as well. Unfortunately I don't have anything else and my attempt to order a copy of what is on record has not been successful. My mother recalls knowing Garetta died very young but has no other details. Her spouse and child came out to California eventually and are buried in a family plot out here. If you have any suggestions of how to research further please let me know. I'm a novice at this ancestry research. Thank you again!

records for Garetta Wilson McKee
Hello...we appear to share ancestry on the McKee/Marts trees. My great great grandfather was Elmer Ellsworth McKee. His wife Garetta died very young and I am not able to locate her burial location. If you have any information please share. Thank you!

I have proven my ancestry to DAR satisfaction through Joshua Reed (husband of Johanna McClelland) and their daughter Rachel.

I am attempting to reconcile the date of Rachel's birth in order to claim ancestry to John McClelland through Johanna.

Johanna's tombstone states marriage April 27, 1784; earlier applications to DAR state April 27, 19779 which would support the fact that Rachel was daughter of Johanna and Joshua not the daughter of an unknown first wife.

Johannah's tombstone seems quite elegant for the year 1823 and also compared to Joshua's.

Do you have any information on this tombstone or their marriage date?

I have made the requested transfer, however, if you have any future requests to me or someone else, please log in, go to the memorial page and click on the Edit button and make your request from there. It will simplify the process for us all.
