|Bio and Links|
2010, I am in the process of gathering the soldiers of the Civil War 85th ILLinois Infantry Regiment into virtual cemeteries.|
Please email me if you know the resting place of any soldier I have not yet found.
Origins of Companies
B---Fulton and Mason Co.
F---Tazewell and Woodford Co.
G---Fulton and Schuyler Co.
September 2013. I have started a virtual cemetery for Mason County IL WWI Veterans.
I generally try to add whatever additional bio I can find when I enter a memorial, military or otherwise. I use Ancestry.com , marriage and census records, and other similiar types of search sites.
Please contact me if I enter incorrect info or links.
I enjoy taking and posting photos.
Cemetery walking involves planning, time, gas, bees, flies, gnats, ticks, assorted other bugs, dogs, burrs, briars, weeds, tall grass, snakes, scrapes, cuts, mud, dirt, snow, rain, dust, wind, sun, rutted roads, hills and dales, getting lost, and BUCKETS of sweat.
I had to throw my lunch to a couple wild peacocks headed my way. Seems they have a fondness for egg salad.
I appreciate those folks who list their source when posting my photos to Ancestry.com :)
"They say such nice things about people at their funerals that it makes me sad that I'm going to miss mine by just a few days."

WOW - really admiring your memorials! One thing I noticed, looking at pictures of stones from Springdale, Benjamin Wyss's stone says he was born in 1886. That doesn't mean the stone is right.
I can't believe how many victims of the Chatsworth Train Wreck (not Benjamin, but other memorials I've done) are buried at Springdale. There's also one buried at Trivoli Cemetery.

Katharina Ziegler Zimmermann 122032802 was also a victim of the Chatsworth Train Wreck..

I checked out Baby Bert. I wonder if they take him in and put him to bed at night. He looks pretty good! :-) R

|Baxter B. Fite III||William Blundell, 86th Illinois|
Just wanted you to know I got your message on William Blundell. If you're home, I hope you had a good trip. If you're not home, I hope you are having a good time and have a safe trip home. I think spring might finally be here, but, I still wouldn't be surprised to see a little snow fly. Take care and thanks for all you have done and for all you are doing. Baxter

|Neff Family Historical Society||Charles Lafayette Wilson Neff aka Charles Lafayette Wilson|
Thank you for adding the bio for Charles Wilson, for finding and linking his wife Sarah Johnson and the cross index reference to his given surname Neff. Interesting record because of the surname change. We also appreciate your contribution to Find-a-Grave. Bill Neff
|Roanna Dolan Griffin||Ruth Ethel Cleer|
Thank you for making those updates to her memorial so quickly. I really appreciate it. Thanks again.
