Bio Photo You have my permission to use any photos that I have taken, for any purpose. If there are any photos I have taken that you would like a larger sized image--just let me know. I can e-mail the larger sized image to you.

Please visit my personal web page detailing my visits to area cemeteries in Iowa, and around the country.

Out and About

Take time to look at it if you care to. The page is there mostly 'FOR ME' to keep track of what I have worked on. But if someone wants to know what cemetery work I have done in the past; this should be an easy way for them to do so.

What I Am Currently Working On

Rose Hill Memorial Gardens at
Missouri Valley, Harrison County, Iowa

I thought I was done with photos for Rose Hill Memorial Gardens, but I wasn't.

I found a 'stray' folder in my Rose Hill files that said Unknown on it. There are 89 photos that are hard to read, so I will re-visit these and see if I can identify them.

The first one I looked at was easy--Phineas Riley.

So, I am going to work on Rose Hill for a little bit-again...

9 Feb 2016

I am now looking at 'unknown' and 'unreadable' photos and will be uploading photos for this cemetery if I can identify them.

Breeding Cemetery

7 Feb 2016 - I finished uploading photos for this cemetery.

On 26 Aug 2015, I visited the Breeding Cemetery at Drakesville, Davis county, Iowa. I photographed the entire cemetery which totaled 226 photos

I have spent about 1.5 hours at this cemetery.

Drakesville, Davis county, Iowa.

13 - name(s) I've entered
143 - total for Breeding Cemetery

There are still 38 FindaGrave memorials with no photo.

I have about a dozen photos that are unidentifiable. There were numerous graves in the cemetery that were partially buried. I did not attempt to dig these up, clean and photograph them. I will do this at a later date.

There are also a few duplicate memorials. I only added photos to the oldest memorial. I don't have the time nor the inclination to contact these people to have them remove their duplicates.

RE: Walls - Rose Hill
Thanks, Ron. I am related to all the Walls in Calhoun and Rose Hill cemeteries, so I would be happy to take over as many of those as you care to transfer to me.

2 stones in Linwood Cemetery
Find A Grave Memorial# 125252312 My great granduncle, Myron Smith, is buried (red stone) next to his daughter, Gertrude, and her husband, John Carlile. His father, Hiram, and mother, Eliza are there as well. (Though Eliza's stone is either sunken out of sight or missing.) The concrete stone says he was a Navy Yeoman. Given his age, he must have either been in a peacetime service or the Spanish-American War. The stone must have been placed by the VA. I've searched for Myron's military records, but no luck so far.
