Bio and Links
Bio Photo Have been doing genealogy with my mom, Beth Robinette for several years. I love going to cemeteries and photographing the graves. My main lines of interest are Bloomer, Lane, Johnson, Hammonds, Peters, Penley, France, Herron, Roberts, Holmes, Napier and Robinette. Most are located in and around Scott Co. If you have relatives in Scott Co., you are most likely related to me. Since most of the people of Scott Co., are related somehow. I'm sure it is like that in a lot of places but it is prevalent there. My husband Ricky helps me but he does not have a Find A Grave profile. So we just both use this one, though he doesn't want credit (:

My mom takes care of the rest (: Most of which are in Carroll and Grayson Co., VA

PHOTO VOLUNTEERING AND PHOTOS IN GENERAL:
I keep ALL my photos. So if you would like the higher resolution let me know.
NOTE: I may or may not have it now. I deleted some of my photos before I made a disc.

EDITS AND OTHER INFO: Please use the edit tab on the memorial. I will respond ASAP. I am not on the computer daily so it may take me a few days to respond, but I will respond. I LOVE getting new information.

DUPLICATES: I try my best not to do this. But if I have please let me know and I will delete it, if mine was made after the duplicate in question. Please do not make duplicates if you all can help it. I have read through some member profiles and they have actually be harassed for doing this. We all are human and make mistakes. Please be nice (:

MEMORIALS I MANAGE: I try me best to connect everyone. Sometimes this isn't possible due someone else that has a memorial I need to link to and they have not responded. I usually will then try and hyper link them.

CEMETERIES I AM WORKING ON:
1. Depews Chapel. I photographed the entire cemetery and am adding photos and memorials.
2. Lawson Confederate Memorial. I am going through and adding more info.
3. Quillin Cemetery. I am adding more info.

NOTE: I try and omit living survivors from obituaries I post, except for my line and those which are several years old. I know it is public record but I don't want to upset anyone. If I have forgotten to omit and you want them removed, let me know. Also I have posted obituaries in the pictures section. I just found out last month (April 2013) that F.A.G. does not want this done. I think I have removed most of them off my memorials, but if I have put one on your memorial please let me know and I will remove it. Most are from the 1920's-1970's.I have no way of knowing which ones I put them on. I wish F.A.G would let us access the pictures we posted. It is in the profile section. I was trying to be helpful. I'm sorry ):
NOTE: I type up the obituaries EXACTLY how they are written, mispellings and all (:

NOTE TO ME: Contacted F.A.G.(March 28, 2014) to merge Mountain View School Cemeteries. Changed name to Wood Cemetery and told them to add AKA Mountain View School Cemetery. Added GPS too.

Dear Ancestor
Your tombstone stands among the rest;
neglected and alone
The name and date are chiseled out
on polished, marbled stone
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
in flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
one hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
and come to visit you.

Thank you so much for this transfer. There has been longstanding misinformation about this line, and last year I proved the line to the DAR to help my mother join, using a chancery case that was very hard to find. Since no one knew about the case, no one knew for sure who the father Zachariah was, and he was confused with another man who lived in Lee County, Virginia. The case papers resolved all this, but they are not widely held. I hope citing them on this findagrave page will bring some of the descendants information they otherwise could not have found.

I appreciate what you do--you do a very nice job with your memorials, and it's nice to find a member of findagrave as considerate as you are. Thanks again,

Thanks for the great stone photo you posted for Louisa! The photo taken by the Scott County Historical Society was not near as nice as yours! I appreciate all of you efforts!
I descend from the Wood family there in SW Virginia.
I have noticed in the past that the Hale (?) cemetery there hasn't really been documented , if your looking for a summer project.
That is the Colored Cemetery in Scott County. No relatives there, I just noticed the colored cemeteries seem to not get any attention. I think it is in Gate City.

Thaks again for Louisa's MUCH improved photo!
