Hey..... Thank you for what you do have. My great great grandfather was his brother then. John DuBose 1838 who married Jane Nichols August 1860 in Texas either Newton/Jasper/or Angeline County. We think John may have also died in a camp also during the Civil War. Their only son is my great grandfather. Benjamin C. DuBose - Bradley County Arkansas. I do not know anything about any of the other brothers and sisters but am having fun searching.

I am a little bit confused since we do not have a clear knowing of my great grandfather but bits and pieces. We were thinking that Ruben DuBose and Peter DuBose were brothers in Georgia and Peter died and Ruben married his brothers wife. They blended both their families and moved to Jasper/Newton County Texas in the 1840's. Then Ruben had a son named john born (1838) and Peter had a son named John born (1829) . Our John born in 1838 married Jane Nichols in 1860 and had one son named Benjamin DuBose, my great grandfather... Abner was a brother or 1st cousin to our John. We never knew what happened to him but Benjamin was born in 1863 and never knew his father John. Jane Nichols DuBose married again in 1866 to a Brighten Addison and that is the last we hear of her. Benjamin bounced around between the DuBose family and Nichols family and then wound up in Arkansas where we are. Well, that is what we think we know... ha. Maybe you can shed some light on it. We would love to know more about the DuBose side.
