Bio and Links
Bio Photo I've been doing genealogy on my family lineage for over 35 years. It started out as a hobby and quickly became a passion. My goal is to locate my grandmother's brother, John Joshua Barron who disappeared in 1926. Hopefully one day I'll discover what happened to him. Surnames I'm researching are: Slay, Hatley, Barron, Nicklas, Casburn, Ratliff, Jones and Randolph.

Please do not post death certificates on the memorials that I manage. I don't feel that it is in good taste and you will be asked to remove them. If you want to add an obituary please make sure that the names of the living are omitted for privacy reasons

If you want to request corrections or transfers please use the edit tab on the memorial associated with your request. Transfers can be made for mother, father, sisters and brothers.

RE: Lodessa Slay Evans
I'm sorry, I don't know why I put the 1861 birth date. After I received your last query, I went to the actual site on "Find A Grave" and was surprised to see the 1861 because in my tree I show June 1887, don't have a day of birth, just the month and year. I guess I was thinking about something else when I posted that. I have changed it now to June 1887. Do you have the actual day? Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

RE: Lodessa Slay Evans
Yes, I am distantly related to Lodessaís husband. Are you?

And the newspaper article of her death came from my subscription to

I donít understand why you are saying the death date I show for her is a way off. You must be thinking of someone other than my Lodessa.

She and Will married Apr 3, 1908, they had 4 children; she died Jun 1917 and he married her sister, Ada Lue in Oct. 1917. He and Ada Lue had 6 children.

Evans and McDaniel Memorials
I have made the edits to these memorials as you requested; however, as you have probably experienced, Find A Grave arranges linked spouses by their year of birth instead of Spouse 1 and Spouse 2. Therefore, the edit to the memorial of Bertha McDaniel is not exactly at you requested and may show as declined. I really wish Find A Grave would honor the correct arrangement of multiple spouses. Let me know if you have found a way to bypass this discrepancy.
