I have been doing Genealogy for over 35 yrs. and began locating graves and photographing tombstones in 1980. I mainly add or maintain memorials for my family or my husband's family.|
I have added personal photos to some of these memorials. I went to great lengths to find photos, make negatives and/or scan them, and restore them. Just so you know, beware: Ancestry.com downloads these personal photos for their use without consent and without credit to the source. Since I personally restored my ancestral photos, I am unhappy that they use the results of my work without giving me the credit.

|King Seneca||Laura Aileen MacDonald Gartner|
Good Morning Ruth:
I have just uploaded information about Laura Aileen MacDonald Gartner's death (Memorial # 125794325 ).
|King Seneca||Florence Evelyn MacDonald 1887-1958|
I have had success today in locating the gravesites for Florence and 3 of her possible5 husbands. Her is the Find-A-Grave Memorial numbers:
Florence Evelyn MacDonald 144940820
Spouse 1 - Leonard Perkins Suter 30686574
Spouse 2 - William Henry Lensen 172451382
Spouse 5 - William Russell Eld 172457038
Have found many records for spouse 3 - Frank W Hurlburt, but no burial or obituary so far.
I can find nothing on spouse 4 - Unknown Southwick. The only reason that I hold onto this one is a 1940 city directory for Miami shows Florence Southwick living with Laura Gartner. This would be her eldest sister.
I will be adding an obituary for William Henry Lensen shortly.
|King Seneca||RE: MacDonalds middle names|
Clara's father, George King (1831-1889) was my 2nd great grand-uncle. George's brother, Henry (1840-1939) was my 2nd great grandfather. This makes Clara King MacDonald (1856-1923) my 1st cousin, 3 times removed.
MacDonald Family Tree
lists the middle names of the 3 individuals that you requested (Aldro Cleveland MacDonald, Clara Amelia King MacDonald & Jessie Louisa MacDonald)
This tree is located on Ancestry.com.
My Maternal Grandmother, Lottie Elizabeth King (1911-1994) knew of these relatives and told me about them. I believe that my grandmother used to correspond with Laura Aileen MacDonald Gartner (1886-1963)
My grandmother's birthday book has the following entries:
Clara A MacDonald (but no year listed)
Aldro MacDonald (but no year listed)
Laura Gartner (but no year is listed)
Florence E Lensen (but no year is listed)
Jessie L MacDonald (but no year is listed)
George C MacDonald (but no year is listed)
Georgia Hall (but no year is listed)
Frank F MacDonald (but no year is listed)
Bertha Mae MacDonald 1895
Ethel A Jorgensen (but no year listed)
I do have scans of every page of her birthday book. My mother currently has possession of this book.
My grandmother also told me the following:
Ethel MacDonald (1899-1950) married a man named Jorgensen
Florence MacDonald (1887-1958) married a man named Lensen
Clara MacDonald (1896-1987) married Myron Pomeroy
Laura MacDonald (1886-1963) married William Gartner, and that William Gartner had died at a young age.
I recorded this information from my grandmother starting at age 10, which would have been around 1966-1967.
Another 1st cousin of my grandmother's, Maude Louise Parish Van Liew Schulte (1907-1989) also assisted with obtaining data about the King family when she went to Hacconby, Lincolnshire, England to research the church records. This was primarily for the previous generation that we are discussing.
Anyway, either accept the middle names, or do not accept them. I tend to accept them because sometimes it opens a few more windows for me. If you choose not to, that is fine with me as well.

I actually enlarged the photos on my laptop and could clearly see the number 4. I checked all three photos with same result. When these stones were made the letters and numbers had both thick and thin aspects due to the writing style of the era. Of course the best way to verify is an actual visit in person to see the stone. If someone can do that, we would know for sure. I'm too far away to check as I'm in Washington state.
Thank you for contacting me. I'm sorry it took me awhile to respond...very full plate!
