Bio Photo Learn something each day, and teach something each day ...

For me, photographing cemeteries has evolved from an interest in genealogy, nature, and a quest for understanding life. I enjoy following the paths of my ancestors, searching for their final resting places. I also enjoy fulfilling photo requests. Finding graves brings a rush that makes the search worthwhile. Photo volunteer work is just a small way of contributing and giving something back to others. Cemeteries are by nature peaceful places, and I enjoy the peace I find while searching. Yet, my favorite cemeteries are those that are filled with activity, either relatives visiting their loved ones, joggers, or people walking their dogs.

Currently Pekin IL is home base (but I love to travel).

RE: Moses Pettengill
Hi Greg, I mailed the photo of Moses Pettengill to the Peoria Historical Society. It seemed the best home for it. Isn't it great that it was found!! You are lucky to have Moses and Lucy in your tree.
What great stories.

Your avatar.
I've been poking around the site and happened on your member page. I enlarged your avatar to see what it was. It is beautiful both as a well-crafted object and as a touching sentiment. Is this a grave marker? If so, and you have not already done so, consider adding it to the "Interesting Monuments" list. The list is also accessible from the homepage, on the left.

All the best!

Gerald Snyder
Memorial #127128280
Hi Greg, Catharine Greer is my 3X great grandmother. Her granddaughter, Margaret E. Greer married my great grandfather, William Snyder Jr. (1843---1918, Civil War Veteran).
Would you consider transferring her Memorial to me so that I may include a Bio on her?
I have much research on my Greer lineage.
Thank you, Gerald Snyder

RE: Moses Pettengill
Hi Greg, my settings must be off on this site, as I didn't get your note in my email.

Are you related to Moses? I found his photo in an antique/flea market bin. Thankfully his name was on it, or it would have been lost forever. I noticed in my research that there is a museum in Peoria that is about him. I thought I'd send them the photo. What do you think? My email is P.S. I was so very excited about rescuing that photo from obscurity. He and his wife are so worthy of remembrance.

RE: Bob Arnett
You're welcome. I decided to go ahead and transfer since his wife's memorial was yours.
