My interest has always been in history. In the summer of 2004, I started a project on reclaiming an abandon graveyard in Northcote, Minnesota. There are many forgotten graves there, within and outside of the graveyard. Northcote is strong in history; James J. Hill, builder of the Great Northern Railway. He built a Bonanza farm for his son in Northcote, Minnesota, with the world's largest barns and silos. I thought part of the history in the Oakview Catholic Cemetery needed to be saving too! I received many notes from families that did not know where their loves ones where and now have a place to visit.
Since I started with one gravesite and I thought why not continue so many others can find their love ones.
Please take in consideration that I am not related to most in which I have added. I add them to Find A Grave so family members can find were their ancestors are buried. If you have other information on the graves I have updated please contact me- I would love to add to these graves. Especially pictures!
I have now listed my Mum with me, being in college I am not always able to get all my contributions done. Mum's are a bit less costly than personal secretaries-lol. | |

 | Oakhill Cemetery Agnes Edna Sweet
This is my great-grandmother. She was born Jan, 28, 1847 in Moscow, Ontario, Canada. Her parents were Benjamin Asselstine and Charlotte Hufman.
She had 6 children: MAbel Gertrude Sweet Van Luven, Arthur Grange Sweet, Cyrus James Sweet,
George Hilton Sweet -who died young and is buried next to her, Edna Amelia May Sweet and Harry Ben Sweet.
After her death her husband and children moved to WA state, with the exception of Mabel who was married and living back in Canada.
George Hilton's Sweet's headstone may be missing. My brother visited the cemetery a couple of years ago and could not find it. It was white.
THis cemetery was primarily a Methodist Cemetery and also buried there is her sister0in-law Azubah Fretts Asselstine and several of her children. Azubah was married to Agnes' brother Anthony Coleman Asselstine. He also relocated to WA state. | | | kateb
