Bio and Links
Bio Photo My name is Vickie. I grew up in Swannanoa, N.C. and now I live in Asheville. I enjoy researching family history and walking through cemeteries to read stones. Everyone deserves to be remembered. Someone somewhere loved them. Thanks to the great contributors here at Find a Grave, I have been able to see the graves of many family members that I would have never seen if it wasn't for their generosity. It is so nice to be able to visit a loved one's grave and not even leave the house.

If any of my memorials contain errors, or if you have information to add, please send me a message or an edit. All memorials are done with the utmost respect of those who have passed on and those of us left behind.

When my soul is restless
And things seem out of line,
I visit an old graveyard
To take a mystical step back in time.

I find the oldest tombstones
Then read the messages there;
I consider what their days had been
And how our lives in ways compare.

We all have lived though heartaches
As well as episodes of fun;
Surviving loss of loved ones,
And rewarded for a job well done.

Sometimes if I'm very still
I can hear what they have to say
And feel them reaching out to me
Grateful for my momentary stay.

From Find A Grave member Vickie Oates Woods:

This information that you gave me has confused me.

I am a Fairchild and I do not find any confirmation of Rufus Phillips or Josephine Fairchild that would be her parents.

If this is taken from a death certificate, I know that sometimes people think they know the parents and they don't. Please check ancestry for the information I've posted. If you have further information that proves me wrong, I'm happy to change my information.

J B Fuller
Hi Vickie, got you note on JB Fuller. The Fuller family have been friends of mine for years. Harvey is actually the one that gave me Fuller Family Cemetery on Fuller Lane. There are others that show same and the funeral homes also. Feel rather odd not having a Fuller even though there is Grassy Branch. I have noted on Fuller Cemetery about Grassy Branch, however, I think will contact Find A Grave for answer. Will get back with you--Thanks.

Helen Oates at
Dallas-Ft Worth National Cemetery. I noticed you left a flower for Helen Oates and also for Rumsey Oates. (I am not related just volunteer for findagrave at Dallas-Ft Worth.)
Someone sent a note that Helen Oates spouse was Robert Franklin Oates 1917-1991. I can't find a memorial page for him nor a burial location. Do you know where he is buried.
