Simply enjoy genealogy and preserving history.|
I make mistakes if you tell me, I will fix them.
If they are family, I will gladly transfer.
My aim is to honor the past. Items added to biographies are typically information I receive via email from unknown contributors and post to memorial. I do NOT fact check so take it for what it's worth...further research.
THE STORY TELLERS by unknown
We are the chosen. My feelings are, in each family, there is one who seems
called to find the ancestors. To put flesh on their bones and make them live
again, to tell the family story and to feel that somehow they know and
approve. To me, doing genealogy is not a cold gathering of facts but,
instead, breathing life into all those who have gone before. We are the
storytellers of the tribe. All tribes have one.
We have been called, as it were, by our genes. Those who have gone before
cry out to us: Tell our story.

|Liminal Portal||Artimissy Osborn Gipson # 32462773|
Hi, I received this information from BobbyC (#47720595)
"As a side note: Almeda's father was William S Gipson and her mother was Mary Price Gipson; after doing a little digging I found the grave of Artimissy Osborn Gipson, # 32462773 who married and divorced Jessie Gipson who was from Tennessee as was William S. I don't believe they were brothers but may have been cousins. Almeda was probably named after Artimissy Osborn Gipson."
This was in relation to my great-grandmother, Almeda "Missy" Gipson Stilwell Find A Grave Memorial# 52591523.
Don't know ir this helps you or if you want to add it in as part of her Bio.
Thank you, Tamytha Hopkins.

Memorial #37504579 needs to have the name adjusted to Milton Clarence Bowles Sr. The memorial name currently reads Milton G. Bowles. On the tombstone, the middle initial looks like a "G", but it is a "C" for Clarence. The son is Milton Clarence Bowles Jr.

I couldn't see them on the name page either. Odd, but when I put in her middle name (I didn't know her first name at the time) nothing came up for me. Thanks for trying! Have a good week.

Carol, I am a first cousin of Charles Bivins, Jr. I would like to get in touch with you. The email you posted does not work. Do you have a different one?
|Patty Higginbotham||Nathanial Rufus Powell|
I'm related to the Powell family and I was wondering what part of the cemetery you found Nathanial R. Powell in. My mom, sister and I walked through the whole place yesterday and couldn't find it. Also, do you know where I can find more info on the cemetery? An office maybe?
Thank you for your time

Carol, are you aware he served in the confederate navy on board the CSS Sumter with Captain Semmes? Maurice
|Mary Ball||Helen Byrd # 68623688|
Hi. I am trying to find a photo of the grave of Helen Byrd # 68623688.
The only one on the memorial page is a sign from the cemetery.
Can you help?
Thank you for the transfers
|Marie and Bruce Newell||Oak Rest Cemetery|
We respectfully request permission to use the cemetery entrance sign photo in our online tree with credit. Marie has a cousin interred there and the photo will make a great addition.
Thanks for your consideration.
