Find A Grave Memorial# 56136650

Really really sick of people stealing my family photos and posting them as there own on Ancestry .
I plan to take any action that is available under the law to stop it .

If you need to contact me privately please use me dear friends Memorial Find A Grave Memorial# 71410062

Messages left below ware not meant for edits or suggestions ,for that use the edit tab on memorials .

Please understand Find A Grave memorials are works in progress . And there is no excuse for being rude and abusive .

My photographic works and photos I have posted are protected by in bedded copyright. You Must ask permission before reproducing in any form .

Quote From Jim Tipton founder of F.A.G. on updated rules after being acquired by Ancestry . com found in help with find a grave .

"It will still be wrong for someone to 'steal' a photo from Find A Grave and post it on other websites as if it were their own".

If your reporting a duplicate please add the duplicates F.A.G. number .

Please remember that F.A.G. has threads running that will eventfully merge dups. into the first created . Don't go postal over a dup.
Please do not move a burial unknown memorial into a cemetery where I already placed a memorial and tell me I have to remove my "duplicate" memorial ,this is profusely widespread now.

Please do not ask me to post a obituary that does not have a source ,it is not allowed ,and could lead to a breach of public domain .

If requesting a transfer first read that section in help with find a grave and in My bio. Other wise it will not be considered . Do not leave request on this page ,must be done the proper way to be considered .

Please do not request transfers in less You fully intend to add links and or further improve the information . If you are just collecting memorials use your virtual cemetery function . No request will be considered with out relationship being stated . I have ancestry and will check so be truthful .

Transfers should be requested by using the edit feature on memorial and leaving as a suggestion or (sac) please do not leave request on My public messaging they will not be considered . Your relationship must be stated also. No exceptions .

Despite what many claim .
Find a grave is first and foremost a grave registration site ,as stated by its founder .

I happily add links and other appropriate information if sent by the edit function on memorial.

Corrections /request should not be left as public message as there are plenty of other means now to do them . Public message's WERE NEVER MENT FOR CORRECTIONS ,SO I will not make corrections this way anymore as it is just to difficult .

Find a Grave seems to bring out the worst or the best in folks there seems to be no middle ground . For that reason it seems we all need to make a special effort to show as much respect for the living as we do for the one's who have passed on .

If it is your intent to be anything but cordial and respectful, I strongly recommend you read further in this bio. before doing so .

I hope F.A.G.soon works on punishing those who are stealing our work and photos as promised ,we work hard ,it is not fair that others get credit for our efforts. I have seen hundred if not thousands of my photos on ancestry .com and I am thinking of taking legal action .

I never profit from My photos even though I spend a great deal of time and money taking photos . And I really do not wont any person or web site to profit from them. And I do not wont My ancestors photos stolen and posted by others as though they belong to them . If I see My photo's on another Web site and My list shows no permission was obtained. I will ask them to be removed and if they are not ,I will contact the web site to have them removed .

New editing function has rolled out to all members.

I'm getting a lot of good feed back on My stance of not putting up with harassment, a lot of contributors are also fed up .Some are saying they are thinking of giving up , I think things will get better now that Ancestry. COM has acquired this site .

In till the last couple of Years ago the following statement was not necessary but unfortunately it is now.

To a select but growing few } Please be aware as a contributor on find a grave does not mean You have given up free will, no contributor is obligated to do anything . If You are making a suggestion do not turn it into a demand or try to manipulate or bully a contributor into making Your suggestion . I can't speak for others but as for Me any attempt at demanding or manipulation automatically rejects Your suggestion and further Hate mail internet bullying ,stalking , intimidation are crimes and will be reported and prosecuted if necessary . Further more after becoming aware of theses crimes the web site is obligated to take action against perpetrators of these crimes or it is also at risk of prosecution .

A person goes out and spends money on a camera flash cards ,batteries . Gasoline ,wear an tear on there vehicle not mention time, fights off snakes , mosquitoes ,ticks ,high grass and weeds , walks in the heat and cold ,mud and people cant even send them a thank You ! ,something is seriously wrong with that ,but that's what happening ,out of my last 50 or so photo request I fulfilled I got about 3 thank You notes ,and about 8 or 10 for the last 50 transfers ,and the fact that F.A.G. sends out a reminder email to suggest You say thank You , makes it even hurt more . Come on folks that is all we ask in return for transfers and photo request . I think this says a lot about what is wrong with society to day .

We all live in the shade of trees planted by those who came before us .

I am a taphophile because I like photographing gravestones.

I have been into cemetery Photography & Rubbings Collecting obituaries for 40 years .My experience in and love of investigation work has helped Me a great deal in My genealogical pursuits .

Genealogy begins as an interest, becomes a hobby, continues as an avocation and in the last stages, is an incurable disease.

Rude or demanding behavior will result in Your request being rejected Automatically . Expect 30 days for Your request to be considered .

Any disrespectful activities or communications will not be tolerated and will be addressed as the situation dictates .

I don't know who Beulah is. I'm presuming she is a 2nd wife, but I haven't found a marriage record.

I am wondering if you happened to be related to Clifford K. Day 1917-1967, #68456378. I am a close friend of one of his daughters and I am helping her with her family research. Thanks.

RE: Rose on my mother's memorial
I don't wish to spend my money on Ancestry. I hope they haven't taken my family photos and put them there... I wouldn't mind if it were a FREE site where people don't have to pay to see it. I had a complete virtual cemetery of martyrs, and someone from Find A Grave administration (after being taken over by Ancestry) decided to take all of them and put them in one memorial, as most had had their bodies destroyed, burial unknown... And they were all memorials I'd taken hours to create. Without my knowledge. Now I can't even find that memorial. I'm not going to re do those any time soon, as I keep busy enough with our local cemetery, but it just left a bad taste in my mouth. Fortunately most of the VOLUNTEERS on Find A Grave are good people. You have a great day!

Thank you
Hello: First, thank you for the virtual "flower" you recently left on my Dad's memorial. He passed away during the holiday season so this is always a rough time of year.

Second, I also appreciate your comments regarding the theft of photos. My heart sank a little when I logged onto Ancestry and saw that another "contributor" had taken a photo I took of my Grandfather using a film camera in the 1980s. It had been posted on Ancestry with the note "Courtesy of Find-a-Grave." I provided free license for my photos to be used with "attribution" to me as the author and owner. But some people just don't care enough to do that simple step. The real answer is to put an ugly watermark right on the photos with my name on it, but that's a lot of work and frankly, I don't want to look at a watermark. Anyway, there are many "good people" out there, and I'll keep at it for their sake, but the bad ones also give me second thoughts about why I bother to participate in any online activities.

RE: Rose on my mother's memorial
Coon certainly could have come from "Kuhn", my dad traced the name back to 1700's still as "Coon", but we're thinking it was "anglicized" from the German. We haven't found a direct link yet. It is certainly an unusual name.

On a separate note, I read the story of the young lady murdered in eastern Kansas. I live near Manhattan, Kansas, and that's not too far away from her site. Always good to find memorials nearby.

RE: Mary C Snider
You are amazing! Thank you for getting to this so quickly.

I see there us a metal marker there for a Tom Snider, as well. Right now, I suspect he may be the brother of Mary C. Snider (whose maiden name was also Snider but unrelated to her husband). I will let you know if I discover any proof.

Thank you again. If you ever need anything I can help with in Minnesota or any genealogy questions, although you seem to be as good as my 40 years of experience, please just let me know.

Rose on my mother's memorial
Thank you for the beautiful blossoming rose on my mother's memorial page (Helen Coon)! I went there to post an offering on the eve of my father's surgery and it was so nice to find it there.
