I have been researching my family for over 45 years. It was slow going at first. Then came the computer and things got faster. Then came Find-A-Grave and doors opened. I have accomplished more in the last 10 years than before. After seeing how FAG helped me, I think it is important to record all cemetery records. Not just for the genealogy benefit, but also history. As one said, the headstones will wear, but the on line record will serve the test of time. I'm amazed how fast FAG is growing. I will create a memorial; go to create another and record numbers will have increased 30 or 40 in just a few minutes. I have heard folks say some are just entering memorials for the numbers. I disagree with that because the more we do; the faster the information is available. |
First, I would like to thank all contributors that have helped me with my family records. With your help I now have over 16,000 names in my tree. I feel real blessed for your help.
I read somewhere, "If you don't have time to do it right…. When will you have time to do it over?" We are all trying to honor those who came before us, so let's do it right. If you find a mistake in my records, or just want me to add information, please use the "edit" tab so I'll find the record quicker.
I grew up in the Virginia Tidewater area and have since moved west and now in the Tri City, Virginia area. If I can be of help, please let me know.
"Life should not be just a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming woo hoo what a ride!" (thanks Suzy)
Thanks for the visit.

That is all I need to know. I think I put in the additions.
|James Webster||Louis L. Fallin|
You may live too far away to look into this. If so, that is OK.
Is there another marker next to Louis L. Fallin? His wife was Dorothy Elaine Bennett Fallin. She was born about 1924 and was from Rockingham County, North Carolina (the same as her husband).

no relation. Would you like for me to transfer these memorials to you?
|Wilkie||Isham Edward Trotter|
Hello Golden Eagle,
Thought that you might like to know that I recently visited the graves of Irm B. Trotter and her husband Isham Edward Trotter in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg, VA. I saw only the one marker for her, but looked at the reverse side of her marker and discovered that there is a memorial for her husband there. I have posted the picture on his memorial and thought you might like to see it.

Thanks so much for the images you provided for my Peterson Lanier request. I do have a question. The large monument with the soldier atop it, is that marking a section where many civil war soldiers are buried ? I can't read the inscription at the top. And also ,is there a plaque with petersen's name and info specifically written ? I see the South Carolina inscription and years but are there no individual headstones ?
Thanks again for any info
