I would like to thank everyone whose hard work has been so beneficial to researchers world-wide. This is an amazing website!|
Also, a special thanks goes out to the volunteers in my area who have done such a wonderful job. You all are my inspiration.
My mission is to pay it forward by helping others find ancestors who have been lost by time, distance, and untold stories.
This project is like a giant puzzle that a million people are working, and we all know the majority of the pieces are missing!

|Dorann Lam||Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Muhlenberg County, KY|
Good morning and Happy Thanksgiving,
Some time, when you have a spare moment! would you kindly look at the Find A Grave Memorial for John Milton Groves, Sr. 1844-1911 in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Muhlenberg County. I've been looking at this cemetery for sometime trying to put the families together. (No one does such crazy things except me but I want to with JP Johnston's help post it on the KYKINFOLK site.) According to the county history posted on first wife Nancy's Memorial it states he not only died in Davidson County but was buried in Donelson TN. (There are several Mt.Olivet cemeteries around Davidson County but I could not find one listing JMG, Sr.) I'm having some doubt that he was buried in Mt. Olivet in Muhl Co! Can you get to this cemetery now? I tried Google maps and failed. I'm not going to list it with my posting until I can find out something more definitive. But would appreciate your "take" on this. Mrs. Hammers' listing did not include JM Groves and if there is a stone I think she would have discovered it. Further, should the family ever come looking for the gravesite at Mt. Olivet they might be disappointed. Thanks much -- whenever you have time. Holidays are more important.

I changed the spelling. It could have been another typo on the list of names in the Library. The "N" for his mother may also be an error. But if you can confirm that Sylvan is indeed the son of James William & Ida Mae, I'll link them to him. I see they are both posted in the Fairview Cemetery in New Albany.
|Peter Drysdale||John Kennedy Very - Scott Cemetery|
I agree that the memorial for John K and John Kennedy are likely duplicates, but I cant be sure since I only took these names off a list kept in the New Albany Library. If they are the same person, the death date for John K should be his birth date. I think it would be good if you posted your photo of his parent's inscription on John Kennedy's memorial. Then I'll delete John K's memorial.
|Peter Drysdale||Willemine Schulze - Scott Cemetery|
I agree that the first photo posted on her memorial is incorrect. That stone has since been repaired and is now posted on the memorial for Willemina C. Schulze.
I suspect Willemina C. is the mother of Willemine, but dont know for sure. In any event, I'll change the spelling to match the headstone, and I'll notify the Janet person to remove the photo.

Excellent job. These photos of such old headstones are great. I also notice that you have submitted edits to correct dates and relationships. Efforts such as yours help make Find a Grave a much more meaningful site. Thanks so much and keep up the great work.
