I am a nurse in a dr.'s office. Am a Civil War, and American History student, on a full time, every day basis...I study because we can only learn from our past. I "do" FIND A GRAVE for the historical part. Always read the bios of Civil War Soldiers...I suppose you could call it a hobby. We are never too old to learn! Jane
Cavendish is a poor town not enough money to even go through records that should be sent to the state let alone clean the stones. The only way the stones are going to get cleaned is by voluteers going and doing each stone. My history and love for that cemetery you can't imagine. At least 40% of that cemetery are direct relatives on my mothers side. We went there just last month and we were trying to clean at least immediate relatives ie grandmother grandfather and so on. Yes, alot of the stones are in bad shape and getting worse by the year. I did take a pic of Lucy Sperry's stone and linked them together.
