I have been interested in family history since 1978 and have enjoyed doing family research since that time. I love this website and have been adding memorials for our family. I hope, if you view any of my memorials you will contact me so I can share what ever information I might have. Some of my family memorials I have listed, not knowing the cemetery, in hopes someone who sees them may be able to tell me. I also have been adding memeorials for my daughter's in-laws family and some from the local cemeteries. So either way, I can possibly tell you something about a number of my memorials. I welcome your questions, comments, corrections etc. I have met some really nice and helpfull people through Find A Grave. It is my most sincere desire to help someone add new data to their research so plese feel free to contact me.|

Rita - I marked your picture request for Delphina as fulfilled and posted a picture on her page. Please read the caption that I typed in. I do not believe her burial space is marked. Since you manage the page, feel free to delete the picture or anything you chose. -- Amy

I am related to the Van Nuys family by way of the Hamilton family. Do you know where Theodore Gale Van Nuys is buried? Do you know of any obits for Marvel and Carolyn Van Nuys?
Looked at Census Reports and the 1860 Census for Lancaster shows the following family:
Jas S. Shaver 59
Grace Shaver 57
Elizabeth Shaver 31
Marthena James Shaver 22
Caroline Shaver 19
John Shaver 17
Emeline Shaver 13
Ruben Becham 9
The 1870 Census - Gills Creek, Lancaster shows:
James M. Shaver 60
Grace Shaver 67
Elizabeth Shaver 40
A Emiline Shaver 24
Henry Belk 75 (farm laborer)
1880 Census Gills Creek, Lancaster shows:
James M. Shaver 70 - married - born in SC
Grace Shaver 78 - wife - born in SC but her father was born in Ireland and mother in SC.
Elizabeth Shaver 47 - daughter - single
Agnes E Shaver 28 - daughter - single
1900 Census Gills Creek, Lancaster shows:
Elizabeth Shaver 70, single with her nephew Mansel Shaver 9 living with her.
Elizabeth Jane Shaver's DC states she was a widow and died June 19, 1916. She was an inmate of the County Home which is the County Poor House. Her Find A Grave is 48372336 at St. Luke UMC Cemetery, no headstone showing. Her mother's maiden name looks like "Kirk".

On 521 going toward Heath springs you will turn left at the new Family Dollar store across from Elgin fire department. Will be on your left beside a house under some trees by the road. I didn't see any old stones. Family may have replaced them. Those are the only headstones. If anyone else is buried there there is nothing to indicate it.

No, there is no marker of any kind. The plots in that cemetery are very straight forward and the city documents them pretty well.

James Elmer Bailey is buried in the Shaver Family cemetery and I have posted his headstone along with his wife and child and the other Shaver's that are buried there. I don't know anything about this family. It appears that James's wife Rhoda may be the daughter of J.M. and Grace Shaver and she and her husband and son are buried with her family.
I don't have anything to prove this, so I did not add Shaver as her maiden name. I have tried to locate news articles on this family, but have only been able to locate a small one on James regarding his death, but no detail information was listed. Also, it's possible that Rhoda named her son Joseph E after her husband and father, making J.M. (Joseph M.). And since J.M. Shaver is listed as Sr., there may be a son somewhere, possibly born between Rhoda and Emmaline.

|Lois Harriman||Timm Memorials|
I've transferred a couple of memorials to you. They are the wives of Timms in Prairie River Cemetery. If you aren't interested in managing their memorials, just transfer them back to me.
Have a great day!

Hi, Rita ... I was stalking what I call the recent blanks: memorials in the last 24 hours with no surname. There are typically between 40 and 60, and one can go through the list once a day and catch a few to fix.
|Lois Harriman||Photo Requests in Prairie River|
I did some photos requests in Prairie River Cemetery today. I took a photo of Clara Hackenburg's marker but it wasn't a good one; I will have to retake it. As I was short on time, I didn't find the other one. I hope to get back there soon!
