|Bio and Links|
Greetings from Rutland County, Vermont! |
Please read the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ).
Please use the edit tab on the upper right hand corner of the memorial in question.
I prefer the old style edit, which can be sent by selecting "Suggest any other correction or addition". I personally find it easier to have everything in one email. You have to use the old style edit to send links and bio info, so if you have name/date/place info as well, just stick it all in one message. I don't mind!
If you use the new style edit for names, dates, places and I can't verify the info, I will decline it with a note to send me what you have via the old style edit. If you choose not to do so, that is entirely up to you.
An unsourced family tree you found online is NOT a source. About a third of what I am sent turns out to be wrong (yes I do check). Help me help you faster, double check what you send, ask yourself "does this make sense?", and if the info is not easy to verify (Maryland!), let me know where you got it.
I will not add post-1922 obits.
I will not link to a memorial without final disposition information. PERIOD. Please do not ask, it will not happen. See here and here. Do not tell me my memorial is a "duplicate" of a burial unknown, and don't try to be clever by moving a burial unknown. If you did not know the final disposition, you should not have made a memorial.
Within guidelines, yes! Always! Please state your exact relationship in your request.
No out of guidelines transfers unless you can *show me first* you have substantial info to add. Links are not substantial. Bios are.
USE OF MY PHOTOS
Please feel free to use my photos for your research! No need to ask. All I ask is that if it is going elsewhere on the web, just provide a photo credit stating my name as the photographer. Please use only within reason, do not help yourself to entire cemeteries full of my photos.
All grave and cemetery photos added by me on this site were taken by me, and if you see them elsewhere without my name attached to them, I consider them as having been used without permission.
The above pertains to MY PHOTOS ONLY, not to other contributors photos. Please refer to site policy.
VERMONT DEATH CERTIFICATES
Those adding memorials based on Vermont death certificates...under final disposition please makes sure it specifies "burial". If it says "vault", "storage", "entombment", you can not know for sure if that is the cemetery where the person ultimately ends up. Many cemeteries do not have any or adequate storage for the winter. There has been difficulty filling photo requests here because people are being listed in the wrong cemeteries based on the death certificates.

Requests for memorial corrections, additions or transfers left below will be deleted without action. Use the edit tab. General questions or comments only below, please. Thanks!
Messages back on sometime in the New Year!
