My daughter, Jennifer got married to Caleb Hamelink last feb 5th, 2010 and Their baby, Adelaide is 4 months old. I am a grandmother for first time. I live in Michigan. My fiance, Mark Phillips and I have been together for about 10 months. I got engaged on January 2013 and get married on July 2013. My deafness came when my mother gave birth to me, she was sick with measles. I am the daugther of the late Arthur E. Valkema / Schneider Jr.(1928-1976) and Joyce E. Bates. I am the granddaugther of the late Arthur A. Valkema (1903-1956) and Thelma M.(Silvernail) Schneider (1909-2000) George A. Bates (1907-1968) and Violet B. (Arntz) Bates (1912-1982). Dents
Hi Jackie, THANKS SO MUCH for transferring all the Dents! There are a million details to add, and I'm finding that I need to do some more research for some of them, but I'll keep adding info as I can get to it. Check back sometime and see what's new! Good luck with all your wedding plans, and have a wonderful summer! :>) Julie

Dents in Fairplains
Jackie, I'm sure you're busy with your upcoming wedding plans, and I'm trying to be patient. But I don't understand why you're not responding to my messages and emails about the Dents. They are my great-grandmother's brothers and sisters, and they were all very close, so I want to honor their memories for her. I will send you SAC's from their individual memorials, and I ask you once again, PLEASE, to either tell me you'll make additions or transfer them to me so I can do it! Thank you, Julie

Grave of John Arntz
I live in Erie, PA and am working on a third volume of grave locations for veterans of the War of 1812. I would like your permission to use the pictures you posted of John and Elizabeth Arntz, and the pictures of their graves, in this compilation. I will cite you as the source.

Thank you.

Slater
I noticed you had every profile of the Slater family I was looking at in Michigan. Are you related to them?

Cora Kuikstra
Hi,
How are you related to Cora Kuikstra Michalak? She was my Grandmother. Do you have any photos of her?

Thanks,

Julie

Photo request for Nancy Arntz
Was looking at some open photo requests in my area and came upon yours. Saw that someone walked the whole cemetery with no luck. It's winter here and looking for garves is not possible. But I went to the gen web archives for a look and this cemetery has been fully cataloged. There is however no person in the catalog. Unless this is a recent burial (after the cemetery was cataloged) you will not be getting any photto's, and should probably drop your request.

Here is a link to the catalog. http://www.migenweb.net/ogemaw/cemeteries_lha.htm

Georgia Brown
I thought I was the only person around that still went out to visit Neva and Georgia anymore. I have an interesting addition to the story of her accident...

My grandfather, Kenneth Conklin, was Perry Arntz's stepson through Neva's first marriage. The family story as I heard it is that they were crossing M66 just south of Greenville in their wagon when Georgia fell out and was hit by the car. Perry believed that Kenneth pushed her out of the wagon and blamed him for it for the rest of his life. My grandfather always said that she'd fallen and hadn't been pushed, but Perry and my grandfather never got along after that.

I really enjoyed the pictures that you put up of Perry, and the one of Perry and Georgia. We don't have any pictures of them or of my grandfather when he was young so they were nice to see :)

Picture error
The picture with the sign noting "Eureka Township Cemetery" is not accurately described as to its location. The title of the folder with information on Eureka Township Cemetery should actually be titled Eureka Cemetery. It is located in Greenbush Township, Clinton County, Michigan. I do not know where Eureka Township Cemetery is located.
