Bio and Links
Bio Photo I became a member of FAG almost 10 years ago. I love FAG more and more each year. I try to add as many pictures to FAG as time allows.

14 years ago my daughter had a digital camera that ran by floppy disk and that is when I started to take complete cemeteries. My own genealogy sometimes consumes my time so all the pictures I have are not added yet. Every chance I get I will add a bunch. I love how big FAG has become. I tell everyone about it and advise them to join. The more that joins the more pictures added. I have one request from FAG and that is to add a spot for obits.

I started doing genealogy in my middle 20's, I really got into it when my sister introduced me to a program called Family Tree Maker by Broderbund, my fathers Mormon family was in there. I found my grandmother had entered her genealogy to which has also come a long way and open to non members. My grandmothers information ended up on these disks. Now we have Ancestry and it is a wonderful program.

I took off from there. I consider myself very good at what I do and I am always willing to help others.

My dream with my best friend was to retire and get an RV and travel everywhere and anywhere and take pictures of any cemetery we passed. My dream ended when he passed away from pancreatic cancer. One of my fond memories of him is: he would come into the computer room and asked me if I was looking for my great great great in his Spanish tongue. I guess he really did not understand what I was doing but he was content just knowing I was near. I miss him very much.

I want to share one more special thing about myself, my father was a non active Mormon so I did not grow up in the church. I learned he was Mormon when I was in my 30's.

I went to a family reunion in Mississippi July 4, 2011 and got to meet my Mormon family. I have never in my life met such loving people in such large quantities. I was told by one of my cousins that I was chosen, I stopped for a minute and looked at her and said YES, I think I was.

Mormons believe by doing genealogy you are
gathering your family together for the next world. Mind you, I did not grow up in the church and did not know this about genealogy I just knew that I lived and breathed it and never knew why. After my trip I came home and was baptized into the Mormon faith and I love it so much. Like I said before, I have never in my life met so many loving people in such large quantities. Not knowing for so many years I was chosen to do Gods work and gather his children up makes me realize genealogy is not a fun past time but a chosen gift.

I normally do not talk about my personal life but I read other FAG'ers and that makes me know them personally. We are a family and I just love my family so now you know who I am. Hats off to the person or persons that created this awesome site and thank you all for making this a great place to go. Keep up the good work.
Love Cheryl

Betty Ann Owens

Your Memorial created in 2014 is a duplicate of Memorial 17539863 for Betty Ann, created by her sister Yvonne.

Can you delete your duplicate? If not, let me know and I'll contact FindAGrave Administration to eliminate the duplication.

RE: Cemetery Picture,
You're very welcome for the pictures of the Goodwin family graves. Garland's wife was not there but I did start a memorial for the others(Ralph and Willard)who were there. My 92 year old Mother went to school with the Goodwins and my 85 year old Uncle lives in the house in Oxmoor where Ben and Frances raised their nine children.

RE: Cemetery Picture,
That picture is of the board at the entrance of the cemetery showing where the graves are and where they are. The two children of Peter Engelhardt 1862 & 1863 are listed but no head stones are marking the graves.

Albert Lee Cavin
I would like to know where the info was found about Albert Lee Cavin being married before Norvel Cupit Cavin. This is my grandparents and we don't have any records of him being married before or having a son with another woman.
Thank you

RE: kin
I am VERY distantly related to your great grandmother, if at all:

Lucinda Jane Burcham Umfress had a daughter
Susie Umfress.

Susie Umfress married William Louis Ferrell.

They had a son, Louis Luther Fydel Ferrell.

He married Margaret Lee Cannon.

Margaret Lee Cannon was the sister of Viola Gertrude Cannon Davidson Patterson, who was my father's stepmother.

Wm. Lindzy McGrath memorials
If everyone searched a name before creating a memorial we could keep duplicate memorials to a minimum. I made the mistake of making duplicate memorials before someone pointed this out to me.
Is it okay to delete the 2016 memorial now?

created in 2006- 13760468
created 2009- 34557635

The one you created:
2016- 158862275

I had a rough time finding this grave in person. He is the only McGrath from that period buried in the cemetery and his stone is flush with the ground so a person has to be right at the stone to notice it. It is a large cemetery.
