Bio and Links
Bio Photo Born March 10, 1940 in Hogansville, Troup County, Georgia to Herman Hanson Mattingly and Mary Lee Oma Crowe and the second eldest of seven children to Herman and six to Mary.

My primary genealogical interests include Mattingly and Crow/e and connecting lines. I am descended from Cezar Mattingly but research all of the Mattingly name. From the Crow side, I am descended from James Crow (1713) and his second wife, Grace Denson.

If you see a memorial created by me and the individual concerned is of your immediate line, but not of mine, I am happy to transfer that memorial to you in accordance with Findagrave rules.

STOWERS
Hi. I was working in Find A Grave, tonight, and searching for the Stowers' family.

I wonder if you have any knowledge of a Harrison Stowers. I think he may have been listed, at times, as "A.H. Stowers". Around the 1840's timeframe.

My great great great Aunt, Laura Stowers seemed to be a slave of the Stowers' family. Harrison Stowers was listed as her Father. This would have been in the Pendleton Cty KY area.

I am looking for info regarding the family and, more importantly, any slave info I can find.

Thank you for your help, in advance.

Colleen

RE: Marie Dalton
THanks. I think I never made a memorial for her because I do not yet know which cemetery she is in for certain. I will look into it, thanks.

RE: Michael Spencer
Thank you for the reply, I have seen it both ways, c or s and thought I had mad another transcription error which at 70 I do regularly now :) Our DNA is odd in that it is an ancient line? and that's all I know from FTDNA unless I would like to send them more money! I wish I could see a copy of Michaels death certificate, has anyone ever gotten a copy of it? Is it possible that Michael is related to the John Spencer that was the only survivor of his brothers in the Battle of Wyoming, PA 1788? One researcher has talked about that too. It would certainly account for why there is no family around him and possibably how he got land. Does anyone know anything about the Samuel Spencer, Indian Fighter, in Breckinridge? Well I will put this out there too...Spencers buried in Jarboe Cemetery and supposedly on the McDaniels Farm are they the same family. Also, I would like to find who, Spencers, is buried at the McDaniels place.

RE: Barbara Spencer
Hi again, I see I listed Michael with a middle initial of "C." but his grave marker in Jarboe Cemetery in Breckinridge Co., KY says "S.". Does anyone know what his middle name was and also about John, father and Michael, son, their birth and death dates. What do the Washington Co., KY John (Richard), Michael Spencer who signed someone's will as a witness in 1748 have to do with our Michael in Breckinridge? Michael Spencer m. Elizabeth Molohon both age 49 in 1801 that makes his b. 1796. dianne.spencer@att.net

RE: Barbara Spencer
Thank you for the reply. Yes, there is no info to be found on Barbara's Mother or Father. The family source I go by is mymarylandkinfamilytreeguide.com. Anyway they call him J. John Spencer and his son, my line, Samuel Seneca Spencer b. 1795 Grayson Co., KY said in the 1850 Wapella, DeWitt Co., IL Census that Father, Mother and Self were all born in Kentucky! I've been at this brick wall well over 35 years. I have had my brothers dna done, so if you are interested please email me Dianne.spencer@att.net. Again, Thank you, Dianne
