I want to thank each of you for your thoughts
and prayers. Your kindness means a great deal
to me and my family.

I'm retired, doing genealogy work & enjoy helping on the findagrave.com website. I'm a proud Okie., born & raised in Oklahoma. I am of Cherokee decent, as my Great Grandfather and Grandfather signed the Dawes Rolls. I have been doing my 'Long' family tree for years and have found so many cousins online.
It has certainly been interesting and most enjoyable meeting and hearing from new distant family members. I have learned so much about
my ancestors and their lives down through the generations, I hope to perserve their memories for future generations to come. This is why I like working on the findagrave site, hoping to help others looking for their loved ones. I have found others to be very helpful and kind to share information.
My husband and I are enjoying our church, family & early retirement.
Aren't the Grands Fun?!!!
We have two beautiful granddaughters.
Madison, 10 and Gracie 8........

If I have made any mistakes, or
you would like to have your family
info added to their page, please contact
me and I'll be happy to add it for you.

Thank you...Phyllis

I want to also say thank you for taking the time to visit my loved ones memorial pages and leaving a note for them. God Bless You

A Special'Thank You'to 'God's Special Angel'

RE: Claude Wilson Long
I am sorry but I don't think I can help you. All I know about Claude Long is that I took the photo of his headstone.

Good luck in your search

Holden Franklin
2nd Cousin
Hi Phyllis.

I was just leaving a message on my father's memorial page, and I got caught up in looking back on his parents, and then their parents, and so on, and I noticed that all of those pages were possible from your efforts. It's really awesome to me to be able to learn the names of my great great great grandparents.

I'm James Taylor Franklin, Jr.'s son, Holden. I believe that means that we are 2nd cousins. I just thought I would say hello and thank you for all the work you've done looking up these things about our family.

Oops
Oops! I see that you have Virginia "Rebecca" Langston Maples born in 1768 but her daughter, Nancy Elizabeth Maples Long born in 1772.

Long/Maples lines
Hi, what proof did you find for Noah and Rebecca being the parents of Nancy Elizabeth Maples?

I'm working on supplemental applications for both the Long and Maples lines for DAR and according to the proven applications, Nancy Elizabeth Maples was the daughter of Josiah Maples and Ruthea Sweeney. This is the Nancy Elizabeth who married George Long I.

I descend through George Long II, and his daughter Margaret 'Peggy' Long Ware.

I know mistakes were made on some of the older DAR apps with the result being that DAR will require new proof of descendancy, so I'm wondering if this might affect my applications.

Thank you.
Cousin Jill

RE: Longs
Hi Phyllis,

I received a failure to deliver notice...I just looked and it had some of the body of what you wrote but cut most of it off.

Would you please send it again? An alternate email address I have is:

patriciak.long58@yahoo.com

I so look forward to hearing about all of US!!

John Long (married to Mary Haynes) is my 4th great grand uncle. I've been trying to get documentation together for my application to the Daughters of the American Revolution by direct lineage to Reuben Long, John's father, my 5th great grandfather. It's like looking for hens teeth....all the documents, etc, they require.

Are you on ancestry.com?

Look forward to that email when you can get to it....take care...

Pat

RE: Health
Phyllis, I am pleased to hear from you & so glad the treatments for Don have been so successful. What a blessing that he had the opportunity for these procedures, even though it's so far from home. Hoping youse are holding-up fairly well during all these weeks, it has to be hard, but the results are well worth any hardship, I'm sure.

Sure missing you on Findagrave but enjoy your visits whenever you are able to be here with us. Maybe this site will improve as time goes on.

Take care & my blessings and prayers are always there for you. SMILES!

RE: Long Family
Hello Phyllis,

Yes indeed, we are kin! Maples Long is my 2nd cousin (4x removed); Maples grandfather John, is my 4th great grand uncle....John's father being Reuben Long, my 5th great grandfather! Does the lineage sound correct to you?

I would certainly love to know more about the Long family books and genealogies that have been written.

I am so glad I found you! I was was born and raised in Colorado; I saved up the money and made a genealogy trip back to Missouri in 2011...it was wonderful, I just wish I had more time to spend there, I only had a week.

I am certainly interested in all Long family information, pictures, etc! How exciting!

My email address is: epitaph.seeker@yahoo.com

You have much more on the Long's from Tennessee than I do I'm sure. Please mail when you can, and thank you for being so kind.

(Cousin) Pat Long
