Bio and Links
Bio Photo I love to scrapbook, and I have been working on family genealogy for almost 10 years. I am a single mom with a special needs adopted daughter. As such I am not on the computer all the time, I will get to edits as I get to the computer.

I live in Bloomington, IN, and I am willing to help get photos of graves in Monroe CO, IN.

Zip codes include 47401, 47402, 47403, 47404, 47407, 47408, and 47429.

The cemeteries near me are Clear Creek, Duncan, Rose Hill, Valhalla, and others.

I am researching Carter, Barger, Branton, Harris, Pierce.

I have not had a computer of my own for several months. As I have access, I will get to edits, please be patient.

Please follow Find a Grave guidelines about obituaries. I may or may not use them as per rules. Please don't get angry with me if I choose to follow rules and not post an obit with the names of living individuals.

Corp Benjamin Franklin "Frank" Woodall #42259191
If you have no personal relationship with Benjamin, would you mind transferring his memorial to me? He and his family lived on the property where I now live, and I've been researching them so long they're starting to "feel" like family. ;-)

Thanks scrappinmom19. --Linda

CORRECTION: He died 1864, not 1964, as my previous note indicated. Sorry.

Found Edward Armstrong's estate records in Monroe County, IN. last week. He, in fact, died in 1823. The administrators of his estate filed bond on 12/4/1823, and a sale bill was filed 1/2/1824.

I'm not sure where the dod of 1834 came from, but I'd be grateful if you could correct it.

The Report of the Adjutant General of the State of Indiana shows that Benjamin died of disease in St. Louis, MO. in April 1964, but place of burial is listed as "Not Reported."

Elder Tom Spencer of the Maple Grove Christian Church informed me last week that Benjamin Woodall is NOT BURIED AT MAPLE GROVE CHURCH CEMETERY.

Edward Armstrong
Could you please correct the date of death for Edward Armstrong.

On 9/22/2009 you added memorial #42251953 for Edward Armstrong in Armstrong Cemetery. You gave his date of death as 1834. He, in fact, died in 1825 or 1826.

According to the Bureau of Land Management website, Edward purchased land On 9/30/1825. Then on 3/2/1826 that same land was sold by his widow, Polly Armstrong. The sale reads, "all my part of the personal estate of Edward Armstrong, deceased, to which I am entitled to by a legal division according to the law regulating intestate estates."--signed Polly Armstrong, 3/2/1826.

On 9/22/2009 you added Corp Benjamin Franklin "Frank" Woodall, d. 15 Apr 1864, buried in Maple Grove Cem. He is also listed as Ben F. Woodall, d. 1 May 1864, buried in Armstrong Cemetery (just down the road from Maple Grove Cem.) (definitely the same guy.)

Might you know which death date & location is correct? Thanks so much for your time

Elizabeth Griffith
You have the birth date listed as 1781 but the headstone says," Elizabeth wife of John Griffith died Aug 14, 1846 aged about 55 years." That would make her birth date about 1791, not 1781.
Also, are you positive that she is buried in the Bell-Armstrong-Parks-Wampler Cemetery and not the Griffith Cemetery where her husband was buried? Thank you.

John Cathcart
Henry Poling/Pollard Cathcart gravestone location
Hello Scrappinmom19

I was doing research trying to clear up some confusion as to Henry Poling/Pollard Cathcart's lineage and burial location. It would appear that you have based the data regarding his burial on the photo you provided in your memorial. However, there are three Friendship Baptist Church Cemeteries in and around Spartanburg, South Carolina: 1) Lydia—the location of your Memorial, 2) Pauline, and 3) on 250 Morning Drive in Spartanburg city.

Please have a look at this Memorial: GRid=88996213

Although the initials on the stone were transcribed as "EP Cathcart," (by Jimmy) you can make out the death date (which is the same as the one in your memorial). A better photo of the gravestone will certainly be required, but do you think it possible that the above memorial was transcribed in error and is in fact the same as the one you posted?

There are other reasons to suspect that Henry was in fact buried in Pauline cemetery:

1. his death certificate indicates that he died in Glenn Springs, which is very close to Pauline.
2. He was enumerated (along with his second wife, Olivia) in Glenn Springs in the 1910 census.
3. There are no other Cathcarts listed on buried at the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery in Lyman, while there are many in Pauline.

If you're interested--and especially if you are related to this line--I've created a page for Henry to try and collect data in order to tie him to his ancestors. I'm doing this as part of my duties as administrator of a Cathcart yDNA study. So far, Henry's parents remain a mystery! Here's the link:

Thanks for your consideration.

If you dont have any personal connection would you mind transferring the memorial for Dewey H Day to me. He was my Great Uncle, you posting his memorial was the only way I could find the date he passed away. Thank you, Laura Gragg-47496857
