Bio and Links
Bio Photo I've been doing research for 30 years and have over 430,000 people in my database. I'm slowly trying to add what I have to Find-A-Grave. What a great resource! I've collected much information from here and hope I can return the favor.

I moved near Augusta, GA, in 2011 (after living near Camden, SC, for close to 30 years), have been married for 39 years (yes, to the same man), have two grown children and two absolutely perfect grandchildren. I still work full time and get out to "see dead people" whenever possible. My son tells me I need to get a life.

I work hard to get my information as accurate as possible and am thankful when other contributors do the same. I'm happy to make requested corrections or consider transfers, but please use the "Edit" tab on the memorial. It's easier to manage the emails that way, and it gives me a link to the memorial and your profile if I need to leave a message. If you request a transfer, please tell me the relationship to the person. Thanks!

If you're a visitor to Find A Grave without an account, please don't send a message without including a way to respond. If you don't have an account, then no email address is given in the message I get, nor is there a link to a profile where a public messages can be left, so I have no way to respond.

As far as pictures go, feel free to add what you like to any of my memorials, but remember that unsponsored memorials are limited to five pictures, so please make them worthwhile. And remember, don't post church/cemetery photos on memorials -- they belong on the main cemetery page.

RE: Re: 94370209 and 20627041
Thank you for responding to my message. It may be possible that he was re-interred in the family plot at Rahway after being originally buried in the Elmwood Memorial Gardens. You may want to contact the Rahway Historical Cemetery as well as Gregory Speciale, the person who created his memorial, to confirm this.

Ms. Gleaton,

The 2 profile numbers are 56904591 and 75706391. It would be nice to combine these if you can easily do so.

Thanks and best regards,

Who is Jacob Elijah Aesop Riddle?
Please advise where you found information linking Jacob Elijah Aesop Riddle to Mahalla Corlean "Caroline" Epting.
With a (very) few exceptions, researchers indicate her husband was John A. Edward Riddle (1848-1885 ) … some post their marriage year as 1869, though there is no evidence to suggest they were ever married. Mahala’s first child, John Adam "J.J." Riddle, is reported to have been born on 17 Mar 1869. Mahala was 22 at the time of his birth.
FindAGrave profiles for Jacob Elijah Aesop Riddle and John A. Edward Riddle show the same parents (Lewis Riddell & Sarah Hendrix) and same exact dates/places of birth/death. There is no indication that John's parents, Lewis and Sarah (Hendrix) Riddle. had twin boys ... in any case, a huge coincidence that they'd have died on the same date.
Another FindAGrave profile, this one for John A. Edward Riddle, doesn’t mention Mahala at all. It indicates he was married to Nancy Alice Derrick … the headstone pictured is engraved “J. Riddle”.
On the Aug 1870 census (p. 27), Caroline Epting is 23 and living with her parents. Whoever provided this info to the enumerator also reported a 2 y/o child named John Epting in residence ... likely Caroline's son. On page 15 of the same census, is John Riddle (22) and Alice (17).
Mahala married Warren Preston George 27 Dec 1872. Their son Jacob William George was born 7 Jan 1876. The 1880 Census for P.W. George & Caroline includes stepson John A. Riddle (age 12). The 1880 census for Jacob and Mary Ann Epting does not list a son named John.
In the 1900 census, Mahala George tells the enumerator she's been married for 28 years (bringing her marriage year to 1872 which matches what we know). She indicates she had 8 children ... 7 living. All have been accounted for.
Also listed is John A. Riddle with his wife Lela, 7 children, 2 grandchildren and brother, James B.L. George. A line-by-line search of that census did not produce the name Jacob Riddle.
Thoughts?

Ms. Gleaton,

I recently joined Find A Grave to document the David Shull Family Cemetery in Lexington County, SC. In setting up links to those buried there, I noticed that there is a duplicate profile to yours on Susan Alma ""Sue" Caughman Shull.

It is titled "Sue A. Shull", and was created by "Buddy" in 2011, a year after yours was created. It contains much less information than yours, but does have a nice photo of the gravestone.

I just wondered if you were aware of this duplication? It was confusing to me at first.

Best regards,

Mrs. Gleaton,

I will be glad to honor your request to remove an obit from someone but you did not tell me the person's name to remove the obit from.

RE: Tillie Ziemba's Lincoln
Oh I see, I wanted to contact her Family and tell them the story of this car, if they are interested! I brought it back to its glory and I kept the "Tillie Ziemba" Plaque on it! Just wanted to share at least some pictures of the car the belonged to her! looks like it was made for her as it was special order back in 1979. From what I see in the documentation she was a Mill Owner along with her Husband Joseph up in Wisconsin. Well hope I can share the story of how I found the car and restored it and still sports "Tillie's" special plaque! thanks for the response, Vince
