I manage~~not own~~the memorials I place on FindaGrave. Please use the SAC (edit feature) when asking for changes. This prevents mistakes because the edit feature connects me to the right memorial. Please read this ★ ☆ ★ FAQs ★ ☆ ★ before you intentionally make a duplicate of a memorial (which is a no no): I do transfer out of guidelines a lot if I feel you will maintain the memorial you request better than I can ~ which means a beloved aunt, cousin, best friend, etc. (Just don't ask for a whole cemetery or a whole list of the same name especially if you happened to find this site and have been a member for a few days). Stick around for awhile - contribute. Although a great place for genealogy this is a GRAVES REGISTRATION SITE!

Permission has been given to GenealogyTrails.com to use my photos for their excellent site.
YES - you have permission to use the photos I took for your personal family files. I would appreciate it if you cited where you found the photo and if possible link back to FindAGrave.com.
However unless you are a nonprofit organization, this is not to be copied & pasted on a commercial site or used for commercial publication without permission.

I love to have additional information to add to the memorials. In winter I go through what I have put up and link families, find additional dates, etc. Although it looks like I have more than I can handle, I have had no problem adding suggested information. I have 35 years of experience in family history research and will be happy to add links or more biographical information on your family.

If you are requesting a photo - all information is helpful. Many people only have flat to the ground memorials, and they are difficult to find. If you know of other family names that might be close by, that is very helpful in large cemeteries. Also if your memorial served in the military, that is very helpful as most cemeteries commemorate with a flag.

I love the challenge of photographing really old stones. I also love the zincs - which were an inexpensive product for the time but have outlasted some of the more expensive marbles and granites. The zincs were very popular during the Prohibition Era because the insides were hollow and easily accessible.

The people we ~meet~ in these resting places are integral in putting together family history. The memorial may be all that is left.

Thank you to all the volunteers who have added photos to my memorials, taken the time to send me information, added their own memorials, found a dupe or two, and have been kind and respectful.

It is so important that if you have an old cemetery near you, to get these stones recorded before weather and/or vandals get to them.
★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★★ ☆
I do try to wipe off debris and pull some overgrown grass out of the way, but I will not harm the stone in any way. Plus I do not pull up flowers, even if they are wilted.
It's a bit of work to take the photos, re size and sometimes enhance the lettering to be made readable, enter names and upload the photos. I do this lovingly. Please respect that.
★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★
I have a camera that takes good photos, however the condition of the stone may make it unreadable or the stone is so damaged that there is no information. Bright sunny days might be good for walks but can wash out headstone inscriptions. I do retakes a lot.

RE: Lucy & David Belisle
My apologies, I replied to the wrong message. While you did get photos of both my Grandfather's (Michael Czapor) and my aunt and uncle's (David and Lucy Belisle) gravestones, my grandfather's (Michael Czapor) gravestone is excellent just the way it is. Very appreciative of that. It's my aunt and uncle's (David and Lucy Belisle) gravestone that was very glossy that day. You are very kind to make another attempt at theirs and I sincerely apologize for the mix-up. Thank you kindly for your time and effort. I cannot thank you enough.

RE: Photo of Michael Czapor Gravesite
Oh My Goodness! I am SO grateful for this photo! I apologize that is has taken me so long to acknowledge it. I would like if you could get a less glossy one so that the stone is more visible. What a wonderful gift you have given me :) As soon as I can I will return the favor. Currently you have 4 photos requests that are near me. I will do my best to get them if I can.

2nd Lieutenant Rodney J. MacGregor
2nd Lieutenant Rodney J. MacGregor was copilot of C-47 tailnumber 41-18511. He was a aircrew member of the 36th Troop Carrier Squadron, 316th Troop Carrier Group.

His airplane carrying paratroopers from the 82nd Airborne Division was shot down by "friendly fire" on 11 July 1943. The remains of the crew and paratroopers were never found. Lieutenant MacGregor is listed on the Walls of Missing of the Sicily Rome Cemetery in Nettuno, Italy.

You took a picture of his cenotaph. I would like to ask your permission to use that picture for my project about the temporary American GELA Cemetery in Sicily, where over 1,200 men and women were buried between July 1943 and April 1947. If his remains would have been found, he would have been buried at Gela.

I have my project available on a DVD, titled "They stayed behind".

Of course you will be credited

Hey my great grandfather's brother and his wife, Elmer and Dorothy Waterhouse, both died in Bristol, CT. I was wondering if you lookup obituaries too?

Hi I tend to agree with you, but normally she wouldn't be in the lot book if that were so. I find it amazing that you found it. Good eye!

I am his oldest daughter by his first wife and the dates you have on find a grave should be 1932 for his birth and 1962 for his death
I can see how a person would think that the 2 looks like a 7

She is also listed in the Cemetery lot book for the Valley. It made no sense to me that she wouldn't be buried with her husband and children, but she is on the stone. Usually it will say memorial stone if they are buried somewhere else. I checked family search as they often have disinterred records, but nothing. Guess I will take a ride to the Records at Pine Grove tomorrow, I believe she is with her family in CT.

thank you...
For all the suggestions you've sent on Duncan death dates in CT. I'll be putting them thru soon. Might I ask your source? If you have DC's I'd be very appreciative for them, or for you to post them. Many thanks for the info and your help.
