RE: Someone has invaded Find A Grave
Russ, thanks for responding. I am very disappointed that someone would take advantage of novice (me) as well as proficient genealogists relying on Find A Grave as a place to add to the records of our ancestors. In my case, the first time the Chrome Bullseye popped up, I bit and clicked on a button, to download the purported Urgent Chrome Update. What I got was a Chrome that behaved like molasses in January. Then, I wised up and searched until I found the Chrome Cleanup Tool. That fixed my Chrome, but, I hadn't learned my lesson. It happened a second time, but I didn't bite. I DID notice the URL was not Google. From then on, I began using Opera (almost) exclusively to go to Find A Grave. I say "almost" because the two more times the Google Bullseye popped up happened because when I clicked on a message from Find A Grave about a photo I had requested or an edit of someone's data, Chrome automatically ran because it is my of-choice browser. I'm doing things differently now.

But Russ, I am disappointed your first impulse was to point a finger at me and my browser. I'm going to go to the Chrome Forum and search for my conversation with people there and to find their statement that Find a Grave was a known offender. I'll send the link to you so you can read it for yourself.

Wrong GPS for Flat Rock Cemetery
Hi Russ,
Donít know if you can help with this, but Find A Grave interactive map for this cemetery is not correct. It currently displays to Pioneer Trail Park, where there is actually a very tiny old Indian cemetery.

Correct GPS Coordinates for:
Flat Rock Cemetery
Also known as: Escanaba Township Cemetery
Located in Flat Rock, Delta County, Michigan
is: 45.8254761,-87.1900577

Escanaba, Mi

C.W.Vet;Atlantic Co. Orville E. Moore
I am a Vermont Civil War buff, and am presently working on a project to identify the last resting places of many of our"Old Soldiers" that had ties to Vt. Orville Moore is one such patriot. May I use the photo that you contributed to his Find A Grave Memorial, to post on the Vt.C.W. site? (

You will receive credit for this.
Thank you for your consideration on this.

site compromised?
Lately I will occasionally get a random, non-Find A Grave, web page appearring when using the site. This will sometimes happen when clicking on what I think is a valid link within the site, and other times it will pop up even if I haven't done anything. Is it possible the site has been compromised somehow?

Create Memorial

I have tried to figure out how to create a memorial, I had no luck. Can you tell what I need to know to create a memorial?
