Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been interested in family history since 1978 and have enjoyed doing family research since that time. I love this website and have been adding memorials for our family. I hope, if you view any of my memorials you will contact me so I can share what ever information I might have. Some of my family memorials I have listed, not knowing the cemetery, in hopes someone who sees them may be able to tell me. I also have been adding memeorials for my daughter's in-laws family and some from the local cemeteries. So either way, I can possibly tell you something about a number of my memorials. I welcome your questions, comments, corrections etc. I have met some really nice and helpfull people through Find A Grave. It is my most sincere desire to help someone add new data to their research so plese feel free to contact me.

RE: Berdsell Franklin #48159139
I'm so sorry, I misunderstood the context. Married in 1918. Not divorced in 1918. My bad!

Thanks for clarifying.

RE: Anna Gertrude Bollin Nansel
Anna's brother Ferdinand is my 3rd great grandfather. I've had my DNA matched back to their parents, Joseph Bollin & M. Agatha "Agnes" Hör (Heer).

The 1860 & 1870 census shows her birthplace as Baden. I can see where it says Oct on the headstone, but read the date, so just going by what Ellen Eckstein transcribed.

I looked on Missouri Digital Heritage & don't find a death certificate for Anna.

Wish I knew more, but I'll keep looking.

RE: Sons of Enoch and Amanda
Hi Rita,
I found him and linked him to Enoch and Amanda. Charley was the name on his stone and the Wayne is spelled "right". He is buried in the Brookston I.O.O.F. Cemetery. There is an Enock (sp) buried there that may be his son but I have no clue as I never remember hearing of him. I do know Uncle Charley had two kids when he registered for WW I. Brookston is actually where Great-grandpa Enoch Andrew died in 1917 of a heat stroke during a union rally. He had gone there to work because there wasn't much going on in the mountains. This left Amanda with a large family to care for and no real income. Enoch and Amanda lived on Soapstone Ridge Road at the top of the hill from the cemetery. We had to walk about 2 miles down paths to visit when I was a kid as the place couldn't be accessed by car. Amanda spent her last 15 years bedfast due to a broken hip and couldn't get out to have proper treatment. Thanks for all! Bill

James Simon Clfton
Rita:

Hello!

I see you are handling my great-great-grandfather's memorial (James Simon Clifton)! However, there are a few things that need to be corrected.

There was a James Simon T. Clifton, but he lived and died in Chester County, SC per the director of Geneology at USC. However, this James Simon Clifton was different. His father was a Jesse Clifton and his mother was Nancy Catherine Beckham.

Now, it is possible that this Jesse Clifton was his father, but I believe Catherine Beckham divorced him and changed her name back to Beckham. I suspect that Jesse moved to Chester County, remarried, and had more children, and named one of his sons James Simon T. Clifton. There's obviously too much a coincidence in names being very similar,so it could be the same father, but these are two different James Simon Clifton's. The one buried at Mount Carmel is Just James Simon Clifton Sr. His son James Simon Clifton Jr is my great-grandfather. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at robertfun1@att.net, or call me at 910-805-0318.

Thank you very much.

Catherine Boone and Isaac Edwards
I note that messages I left yesterday have been removed. I am not sure why, but the Isaac Edwards whose tombstone you have recorded was not married to Catherine Rosanna Boone. There were two Catherine's in question, and that's why there is confusion. Isaac Edwards was my 5th great-grandfather. There was a Catherine Rosanna Boone who was the daughter of Joseph Boone and Catherine Brown of Exeter County, Pa.

Catherine Rosanna Boone, according to other records was born 1738, and died 1813,Lincoln County, NC

My 5th great-grandmother,Catherine Boone who married Isaac Edwards Sr. was born in Guilford County, North Carolina, and died February 1835, at Little Reed, Carroll County, VA. If you need more information I will be happy to share what I can with you. Jean Mayfield Cuevas

So glad I found him; the grave is located in Section L, Site 9095 -- a lady at the visitor center in Arlington helped me (they also manage this cemetery). All the best to you.

Hey Rita
I got through the phone system to a real person (!), got a corrected grave location, and added the photo. All the best to you.

RE: James Edward Quinn
Hey Rita
I got the contact information on the bottom of this page about the cemetery:
http://www.nps.gov/nr/travel/national_cemeteries/district_of_columbia/us_soldiers_and_airmens_home_national_cemetery.html
I believe the only two national cemeteries the Army runs are Arlington and Soldiers'/Airmen's -- perhaps they share a contact phone number? Best wishes to you -- I hope you're able to find the information.
