My search for my biological father started in 1995 after 18years of waiting for that day, I found him in the matter of months it was THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE.

Years later my Uncle sent me my family tree on my mother's side and it took a quest out of me that has not ended since.

The information that you get into is remarkable, the journey is never ending and the rewards you get are priceless.

I hope any of my post maybe of some help to others.

Mostly all the graves that I've posted are family members of mine.

I figure I would start with what I have and then help find more.

I love being able to help other's and this is a site to just that.

If there are any post in the future that need correcting please email me I will fix any mistakes.

Dear Ancestor,
Your tombstone stands among the rest;
Neglected and alone.
The name and the date are chiseled out
On polished, marbled stone.
It reaches out to all who cares
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.

Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.

Psalm 23
"A Psalm of David. NKJV"

1 The LORD is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
3 He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name's sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the LORD Forever. Amen

Ballew cemetery
Can you give me directions to the Ballew cemetery? I have photographs of one near Variety Mills, but not this one. My husband's grandmother was Katherine Spencer Ballew.

Tillman Family Cemetery

I made it out to the Tillman Family Cemetery the other day and took some pictures. I have added them to the memorials. At your leisure, link Alfred S. "Bud" Phillips (#48775197) to his parents George Washington Phillips and Alice Reems Shumaker.

RE: {Charles L. Allen) Pop's
Thank you - you brought tears to my eyes and I'll have to share with the family. Pop/Jr was my grandfather. My mother is his oldest child. I miss him greatly and haven't been back to VA since just before his death. I am thankful that my family got to spend a long weekend with him just after his diagnosis. I know it will never be the same again.
