After discovering Find A Grave, I've become hooked. It's so true: "you can't do just one."|
If you have any corrections, links or additions, let me know through the "edit" tab which is on the top right of the memorial page. I try to be perfect, but so far....:o(
Please feel free to use any of my cemetery or headstone photos for whatever purpose.
TRANSFERRING Management: To be fair to all, I follow Find-A-Grave's guidelines.
"Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren."
Just use the "edit" tab and let me know how you are related and your FAG contributor number.
RESEARCHING: I am looking for parents and/or siblings of Austin Goodwin Broton [aka Broughton, Brotton, Button, Brayton] (1856-1946). He's my great grandfather and a bit of a mystery. His mother may have been a Goodwin, born in Scotland and died in New York about 1870...we think.
Most importantly...have fun!

|Barbara Mecklenburg||Newton Ives Dennison|
Newton's birth father was William Harrison Dennison and Newton became the step-son of John Brooks Beeson after his father died in 1846 and his mother remarried Beeson in 1850.
|Barbara Mecklenburg||Newton Ives Dennison|
The Dennisons were living in Mercer County, Illinois when his sister before him and his brother after him were born. The Dennisons had lived there since the marriage of the parents in 1837. Therefore Newton was not born in Ohio but in Mercer County, Illinois.

The Calif., Mortuary and Cemetery Records for 1801-1932 said he was 12 years old when he died and he died in 1856 so his birth would have been 1844. Also his sister Charlotte was born in 1842. She was 2 years older than him. My great grandmother Isadora was 4 years older than him. He was my great grand uncle. I have all the records of his family and where everyone was born.

I see you may be related to Asa and Christine Seabury Brayton?! I am very curious if you know why so many died in 1863?
Also, we are searching for Christine's mother, HANNAH and her parents. Do you have any of this info? Let me know, and we can compare some of our findings.
Thank you for all of your work!

Hi, I was wondering if Austin Broton's parents could be Asa P. and Christiana Brayton? You may already have this info, but I just thought I would throw it out there!

|Christie Windley||RE: W.A. Bundtrock #54556746|
I did some looking and I'm not sure of the exact relationship but there were Bundtrocks, Williams, Arthurs and railroads in that part of the family as well as at least one Bernice. If you'd like to email me the article at email@example.com I would be interested in trying to figure out who it refers to. Thanks, Christie
|Mary Simonelli||RE: Cerilla Whittaker #68312862|
Hi, Phyllis! I have inserted the requested picture in four additional places - John (1832-1886), Cerilla R. (1843-1882), Charles (1860-1901), Mary G. (1869-1889), and Cerilla (1895-1908). I was not sure which Cerilla the group stone refers to, since both Cerillas (grandmother and granddaughter) are listed as being buried at Altaville, and the stone gives no dates, but does say "Cerilla R." and "Sister." I can take down whichever one you think is wrong, just let me know.
You should probably put a spouse link between John (1832-1886) and Cerilla R. (1843-1882). Also I notice that Cerilla (1895-1908), and her brother Andrew K. (1897-1981) are not linked to their mother, listed as Angelina Rose Foppiano.
Took me a while to try to sort out the relationships. Hope I got things right.

You're very welcome. I don't remember just now, where I found the newspaper item, but I was glad to know a marker had been placed at her grave. She was a dedicated 'keeper' for so many years and I thought she deserved it. Thanks for writing.
